On the other hand, I found the customer service to be extremely poor. I usually don't care much about the service in a cafe, but without actually having any disagreement with them I felt like I was being treated like a complete idiot simply because I'd never visited the place before. I've worked in customer service before and it's extremely easy to fall into that "the public are all idiots" trap just because of a few bad experiences. There's no excuse for it and I certainly won't be rushing back.

On the positive side I do enjoy the coffee here. I find it to be nicer than other coffee shops I've tried. It is, however, quite expensive; £2.30 for an Americano, just a small size.
They do have nice looking cakes, pastries, cookies, sandwiches. They look good quality, and again quite expensive. The actual coffee shop looks lovely inside and nice tables on the pavement.
Be warned that this is not a child friendly cafe at all though, no prams allowed inside. But that's fine I don't expect every cafe to be child friendly and it's probably nice to have a place where there aren't kids.
BUT and this is the negative side....I find the staff to be incredibly rude and unfriendly. There is zero customer service ethos here. Would it hurt to crack a smile? To just be a bit nice? I work in a customer service environment and wouldn't dream of treating customers the way they do, which is with disdain actually. The baristas actually look so miserable to be there. Literally no one looks at you or says anything. It is actually very disconcerting and I know I am not the only one who thinks this. I just don't get it, why so miserable?
It is as though they are doing you the favour. On the day I went i had to wait upwards of 10 minutes for a coffee, then had to ask for my money back.
So to surmise: good, if expensive, coffee but very unfriendly staff.
There are other coffee shops which are less expensive, with friendly staff who actually treat you with a bit of respect that I'd rather go to.

I was a regular at Munson's for years and I'm sad to say it's really gone downhill. I could always take or leave the mood-swings of the baristas, but on recent visits I'm left wondering why I bother to come. Where to start? I've had food poisoning three times from the sandwiches, and I've witnessed their shoddy approach to food hygiene. The coffee is so hit and miss now - actually miss and miss. There's no constancy with the baristas. The coffee is either too hot or too weak. And served with 'couldn't give a toss' attitude. Ok if the coffee is exceptional, but it isn't. It really isn't. They're really reluctant to accommodate people. God forbid you are a pram-wielding-soya-decaf-type - you'll be turfed out pronto. If, however, you're a faux-media-wannabe with no taste, you'll love it. Do yourself a favour and get a flat-white from Notes, Music & Coffee and see what you're missing: http://www.qype.co.uk/place/1642927-Notes-Music-Coffee-We...

What an appalling place - One star is far too generous. The poorest customer service I have ever experienced anywhere - the manager has an atrocious attitude and talks to you like you're an idiot. Paired with the average coffee and drinks coming late and 5 minutes apart (having had to go back and ask where my coffee was??) these people dont deserve your money. And it's way overpriced. Thank goodness we have the internet to raise our concerns, the manager of Munsons certainly doesn't listen!
If you like independant coffee shops with quality service and drinks, go across the road and avoid this place at all costs.

Munson's has become a regular place to go for me. The sandwiches and cakes are all made on the premises and are delicious. The selection of drinks is unique with interesting refreshing options like my favourite, Sicilian Lemonade.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and the quirky atmosphere makes this much more enjoyable than a big chain.
Finally, they have a great corner location and on a summer's day it's lovely sitting outside.
It's not cheap, but I think it's well worth it.

After readiing the reviews I thought this place would be nice to go to but then I saw the dates and last posting was 2009 -
I can now see why...
I must say that the staff are not so friendly - suffice to say rude and arrogant is me being kind.
They seem more interested in taking you rmoney rather than being hospitable & friendly.
The friendliness towards you seems to be very false as I visited the place several times and not once did the staff recognise me yet they gave the impression that they did.
The only promising thing I could think of was that the sandwiches did look good to eat but the prices are just not realistic for what they have on offer.
I would rather take my business and hard earnt money to one of the many other fine cafes in Ealing
IMHO - To sum up the walk to this place is not worth it.

I was there this crisp bright Summer morning.
The coffee was very nice. The Double Espresso was perfect. It was so nice I wanted a second and thought that I would be bouncing around the office like a yo yo.
Very nice and a perfect place to chill watch the world go by.
This place also makes fresh sandwiches has good pastries and certainly know how to make coffee.
Very good.

Munsons has recently expanded by taking over the shop next door, and has now opened a Deli in the old premises.
The paninis, bagels, focaccias and ciabattas are always amazing with a range of different intersting fillings which they will toast on request, and the service is prompt and friendly. It is true to say that you will pay a little more than some other cafes, but frankly I’d rather have fresh, tasty food which I want to eat. We travel from Hanwell at least once a week to sample it.
I’d never consider touching food before buying it and am glad that they tell off those that do - it seems reasonable to me (see the previous recommendation).
Definitely somewhere I’d recommend, especially now they have the extra space and additional tables.

Munson’s is easily the best coffee in Ealing. It’s a little bit of a walk south from the main drag of Uxbridge Rd/the Broadway, but it’s worth it. The steady stream of local folks in and out tells the tale.
Munson’s is small and cozy, with only a few seats inside and few out on the pavement in good weather. The staff are very friendly, make some quality sandwiches, have some nice pastries, and even play good music (blues the last time I was in). But most importantly they make awesome organic, fair-trade coffee (I usually stop in the morning, and so get a cappuccino).
They’re happy to sell their coffee beans, too, ground or unground. Most varieties are fair-trade and organic.
If you prefer independent, quality places to grab a cup, this is the spot in Ealing.
