This is a historical Canal basin and is the easternmost link between the Regent's Canal and the tidal River Thames. With a footbath and pedestrian bridge all around the basin you can stroll around reading the history from signposts along the way. Brunell designed The Accumulator Tower and you can see how the passage for ships was actually constructed.
From here you can head north along the canal to Mile End or take a longer rout via Bow on the Limehouse Cut. It's also a good walk from Tower Bridge through Wapping to the basin or vice versa.
