76 reviews of London Zoo in English
Went to one of the Zoo night life events and was pleasantly surprised. They had good map of the area and also little stalls in each area if you were hungry or thirsty.
Got round most of the animals but cant take food or drink in so was standing around a bit, really wanted to try out the silent disco which was a disappointment a huge queue and they were closing soon.
Had a hog roast sandwich was lush! only concern is make the silent disco BIGGER!
Pricey at £60 for a family of four. But actually well worth it. Both my kids loved it, and to be honest, my wife and I enjoyed it as well.
I hate to knock any zoo as they need as many visitors as possible and the zoo keepers do a good job. BUT..early july visit.. the zoo was not impressive at all... most of the inside animal areas were empty, and the whole feeling of the place was drab and un-exiting. :-( we did go at 3.50pm.. so main things going on had finished for the day.. but the zoo closes at so people having to go later on in the day will have less to see going on.
Penguins were cute, and a big lion was asleep next to the glass of his enclosure so a good close up view which was nice.
Another attraction I would have been unhappy about paying for if I hadnt have bought a London Pass ( the Zoo's covered by the pass thankfully ).
Iam sure that in the height of summer and when the animals are being shown to the public like the bird shows etc.. the zoo would have been a better experience.
Every Friday in June and July, something magical happens at London Zoo.
You are able to walk around the zoo, looking at the animals and birds with a beer or glass of wine in your hand!
London Zoo Lates is a series of late night events at the zoo where the public is let in after hours to explore the wildlife and have some fun.
There is also plenty of good food on offer and fun to be had with face painting and a silent disco.
Even though there was rain when I went, there was plenty to keep me entertained, including live comedy in the Aquarium and looking at bugs in the dark.
This is a great place to spend a few summer hours on a Friday evening and it does make you feel like a naughty child who has sneaked into the zoo when everyone else has gone home for the day.
This really is one of my favourite places to go in London. It has a wide range of fun animals. The best are: The three toad Sloths, Tapirs, Slow Lorises, Otters and Tigers. It also has a butterfly house and you can get in 2for1 with a voucher off any of the train websites.
Go there now!
My daughter went to the zoo, she had 2 for 1 vouchers so it was quite a cheap day out. There was plenty to see and it was easy to get around. The animals looked well feed and healthy. There is a great Australian enclosure where The wallabies were hopping around. There were a few places to eat and it wasn't too expensive. My daughter and her partner really enjoyed their day out. The next time she goes I will be taking my other children too.
Great place for all the family, Highly recommended.
London zoo is probably one of the best zoo in Europe. You can visit a large range of animals in a good condition and in the center of London (Regent's Park). I've seen the most beautiful tiger I've ever seen.
Weather wasn't great so some animals were not out. But animals we did see were great. Kids really enjoyed the day. Don't like the fact you have to pay for extras but that's just me. Food overpriced in a cafe and not that good. For me it's a been there done that place
London Zoo is one of those places that doesn't get any less awesome just because you've aged and become more cynical with time. I went recently for the first time since primary school and I still gasped, pushed kids out of the way for a better view and got very over-excited.
But that's because it's an amazing zoo. Yes, £17 for a ticket is pricey but it's pricey for a reason. These animals are very well taken care of, staff are knowledgeable and the grounds are beautiful.
Expect to find all of the best animals there like the big cats, gorillas and giraffes. They also have a space for sea life, bugs and nocturnal animals, as well as a whole section devoted to butterflies.
Because of the unpredictable British weather, there's plenty that you can do whilst under shelter - so if the rain pours then you haven't wasted a day. That said it's still best explored on a sunny day - all the best animals are outside.
If you get a chance to visit in the evening then you totally should. Every Friday in August the zoo remains open until 10pm, so you can stroll around the zoo after-hours. It's still pretty busy but there's a BBQ, cocktails and pretty lights strewn over the lawn. That and the silent disco makes for a quite a surreal experience. And the zoo is always more fun when you're tipsy.
Great day out. Good value if you get the london 2 for 1 train attraction deal.
Pretty expensive and not as good as out of town zoos, but some great spaces such as the massive monkey area straddling the canal.
LONDON ZOO, although small it is pleasant and has a fair variety of animals to view. Well worth taking the children, they'll find it an educational experience.
Just been there, makes you imagine how awesome experience should be to shared with them in their real habitat ...
The zoo is still one of the best family days you can have in London as animals are always so amusing and interesting to see. The funniest place is the monkey house. The design is very good and it is easy to see why it is so popular. My advise is to go early and wear comfortable shoes, it is quite large but the walking is good exercise!
I love animals and I love going to the zoo. The London zoo is great and if you think about it, the price of the ticket is fair. They have a great conservation and protection programme which is essential if we still want to see those species in 10 years. I personally like the heated enclosures and the interaction with the animals. Great day out!
children love going there nice place for a great day out
Been a few years since i’ve visited one of the most famous zoos in the country - if not the world - and it didn’t dissapoint.
Like other Qypers have mentioned it isn’t cheap - but the buy one get one free offers are usually available with train tickets or whatnot.
it’s a zoo - there isn’t a lot more to say but make sure if its a nice day you head up to Primrose Hill afterwards for a picnic!
