Never go to the gastronomica!!! Ownrer and manager really rude! Watched at you while you eating and complaint about you if you have something to say! Really bad experience

Very good, authentic Italian cafe serving light meals, wine and also deli items. They source direct from small, rural producers in Italy and specialise in facilitating a direct to the UK market service for them so that the small producers get a decent return (as middlemen cut out) and UK customers get great produce at reasonable prices. Commended!

A lot of the products are organic and carefully selected. Strange that the cafe does not highlight this to the sky?? They really ought to provide more printed information up front about their wines which are very good and some are organic too. Instead, there are just small card labels advertising name and price .... their written menu on the wall has got to be sorted out!!! It is not big enough for customers to read with ease - letters are too crowded. They also need to provide more information about their offerings e.g. what is an 'assagi' (apologies if spelt wrong) up front and not suppose that customers 'could' ask them; most would just get confused and walk out. What a loss! The food is very good indeed.

This would be an excellent place for a light evening supper with wine in comfortable surroundings. The star really is their food! The decor is not bad either. It really is somewhere where one pays for the food and not the decor!
