Excellent Allpress coffee served up just right in a calm cool relaxing atmosphere. It’s my local – and I love it.
Love this place. Coffee is gooood, relaxed atmosphere, good music, unpretentious and comfy sofas. The best part has got to be the people-watching on the benches outside though:)

Not really the kind of place I would expect to find good coffee in, especially with the pub-y look the The Old Shoreditch Station exudes. The ice latte is definitely one to try, one of the best in London.

Excellent coffee shop in great location on the corner of Old Street/Kingsland Road. The atmosphere here is relaxed, cool and friendly. Great place to stop of during the weekdays for a good coffee or quick beer.
There's wi-fi, snacks and a plenty of room to sit without loosing it's uniquely intimate feel. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is that it's relatively pricey and on friday/saturday evenings the atmosphere becomes more drinking orientated and the music gets pumped up. Would be nice to see a coffee shop during the eve as and alternative to the cosmos of bars along shoreditch high street.
If you're in town, definitely check this place out for a nice coffee and good crowd. One of the only good places left in shoreditch.

The best coffee within a short radius of Shoreditch, and a great meeting spot.
If you want a comfy sofa, coffee and some wicked artwork to look at whilst working, then this is the place to go. Part of the Jaguar Shoes empire it doesn't miss a Shoreditch trick, and in the weekends it doubles up as a bar, though I have yet to enjoy such guilty pleasures in said venue.
Until the Coffee Shop opened up on Kingsland Road I didn;t thinkt here was anywhere else I might consider going to get a coffee in Shoreditch.

What I love most about East London’s art community is that anay and literally everything has gallery potential. from someone’s front room, to a disused car park, or a bar-cum fashion store. Practically nowhere is untouched by the artist’s presence. It’s brilliant. Jaguar Shoes’ sister bar The Old Shoreditch Station is a classic example.
Server of a surprisingly impressive range of spirits for such a small place, wonderfully free WIFI (a godsend when you’re bored to death of sitting typing on your own in a silent home office) and coffee; there is one other thing that makes this place special and that’s the art.
I went along to see an exhibition called Screen If You Wanna Go faster – a collection of limited edition hand screen printed artworks by the likes of Chrissie Abbott, Amy Brown Tuukka kaila and others. Very bright and psychedelic, lots of illustration graffiti-ispired work and some cartoons that I nearly mistook for Dave Shrigley.
Apparently some of the prints contained some very unconventional materials…like pigs blood. Ewww… not that it was easily discernible!

super convenient spot for meeting up. hip but unpretentious. nothing really phenomenal about it - just a good cafe/bar to keep in mind when in need of an impromptu HQ.

Good place to catch up with friends as it's very relaxed and during the week doesn't get too noisey. It's really central to the area - right on the corner of kingsland rd and old st - so also a good place to meet if you're going on somewhere.
It's small (ok tiny) and there's not a great deal of space to perch. But it doesn't ever seem too packed and you can usually find a stool, corner of table or window ledge free.
Rough round the edges, but that's exactly what you'd expect in Shoreditch, and suits me perfectly. It's a bit cosy. And thankfully, unlike a lot of the surrounding area, it doesn't get too wanky even on a saturday night.
Pretty cheap for drinks and although the bar area's tiny they have an alright selection... just don't ask for a cocktail.

Linus, 2 March 2008: Extra marks for use of the adjective 'wanky'.

Andrew Hunter, 2 March 2008: I concur. I reckon 10 bonus points :)
