This retro lounge bar sits under Centre Point and is an amazingly quiet place for an evening drink after work when all other bars and pubs are rammed. Maybe it’s the low key entrance and tinted windows that keeps it a secret? Cocktails and beer aren’t cheap, but they have a happy hour.

I have to concur with the lovely Siany here. If you'll all pardon the expression, this gruesome excuse for a bar is a load of old badger's cock.

Never mind the fact that it's packed to the rafters with the sort of people that you'd normally take a transatlantic flight to avoid. Never mind the fact that, on the one occasion I found myself there, the concept of decent barkeeping remained a closed book in a locked tower in a foreign country on a distant planet. I can bring myself to ignore many of those things because they're part and parcel of going to a "bar" in the centre of the old town. If you like - or are accepting of - these things, go and good luck to you.

What I can't forgive is the concrete setting. It's like the Barbican with all the charm surgically removed, assuming that you have both the time and inclination to search amongst the halls of the Barbican, measureless to man as they are, for any whit of architectural reward, then spend your time and energy trying to remove it with a scalpel. I've gone a bit off topic here, haven't I? Where was I?

Oh yes. Point 101. It's rubbish. Why are you drinking on the corner of Tottenham Court Road and Charing Cross Road anyway? Go into Soho. It's only a minute away and it's full of bars. OK, plenty of them are full of the aforementioned dregs of humanity, but then if you wanted to avoid all that you'd probably be at home with a gin and tonic and not standing in the middle of W1 looking for a bar. Right?

This bar makes me want to cry. It's everything that's wrong with London's nightlife.

You only ever end up here because you can't think of anywhere else to go. You'll drink too much and you'll regret it the next day. I don't know why this place is so bad but I don't know anyone who's ended the night well if they've ventured into here.

Let me help: Roxy's is down the road. So is the Intrepid Fox. And the Metro. Go to one of those. Don't venture into Point 101. You'll wake up in the morning and regret it.

It's like all the lost souls of London come here. Don't be one of them.
