This really is a case of not judging a book by it’s cover.
The restaruant itself looks drab from the front - but inside it’s warm and bustling.
The food is absolutely lovely. I’ve been on a couple of large group outings there and they have managed to get it spot on each time.
Prices are reasonable and great value.

As Cafe Belge, this was one of my favourite restaurants in Brighton. Eating mussels & chips while surrounded by pictures of Tin Tin - I mean; what’s not to like?
Since changing to the Belgian Cafe - and since the Umi hotel has sprung up around it, it seems that they’re struggling a little more than they used to. The last time I went, they’d run out of chips (run out of chips???) and the mussels weren’t quite as flavourful as they had been previously.
I’ve got everything crossed that the folks at The Belgian Cafe make a comeback, and I’ll be heading back soon(ish) to find out…
