Fortune Palace

We arrived to the restaurant to an unmanned reception (The member of staff responsible for this station was currently outside using their mobile phone) After a few minutes of waiting they came in to show us to our pre-booked table...or so we thought....

We were shown to a very small two person table (we were a party of three). The member of staff who had show us to this table then left us whilst she went to find a third seat to add to the already cramped table so that one lucky member of our party could sit in the main walkway of the restaurant.
After several minutes of waiting for our third seat to arrive we asked another reluctant member of staff why we couldn't sit at the already made up four-person table across the restaurant. She sheepishly agreed that this was ok.

Once seated, we were asked "what is it you're after?". To which we responded with our drinks order (2 pints of lager & a jug of water). When we ordered our lager we were asked which lager we wanted (having not been informed which were available), once informed that they only serve two kinds (Fosters & Carlsberg). We ordered two pints of Carlsberg with our very confused looking waitress. She then disappeared off to the bar to try & arrange our drinks.
After several minutes wait our waitress returned to the table to inform us that they had run out of Carlsberg (Fosters was not offered as an alternative). We then ordered two pints of Fosters.

After a rather long wait our drinks were brought to the table, or should i say DRINK. Yes after ordering two pints of lager & a jug of water, a single pint of lager was brought to our table.
After a further wait, our full drinks order was delivered to the table - Hallelujah!

Our next trial was ordering the food.
We ordered with our member of waiting staff successfully - or so we thought.
Several minutes later a different member of staff came back to our table to clarify our order (which was not correct). Once straightened out our order was submitted and we were left with our drinks - great!

Two of our three starters were brought out after about 5 minutes (Thai fish cakes - Soggy batter outside , rubbery, chewy processed 'fish' inside). We waited a further 10 minutes for our third starter to be delivered, however it still did not show. When we finally managed to attract the attention of a member of staff to enquired as to the whereabouts of our third starter, we were met with a sniggering, unprofessional attitude.

When the third starter was finally delivered, the first two were cold, and none of us had an cutlery.

Unfortunately, this theme continued into our main course, with the staff having to be constantly prompted to do the basics, such as provide knives & forks & offer replacement drinks etc.

No attempt to mollify us was made when the bill was presented.

All in all, a bad to moderate meal, topped off with dreadful service. 1/10 will certainly not be recommending the Fortune Palace. Visit at your peril!

Really nice restaurant. Staff very friendly , food great.
Last went there for my sons birthday where they brought out a birthday cake for him , with music , really made his day.
