the food taster amazing, good deals. favourite dish for me was the chicken brityani and the lamb too. i loved the naans and the salad.
Seating was good, spacious.

Quite simply the best indian restaurant around. it looks like a takeway shop rather than a restaurant, but dont be fooled - the food here is excellent! i have to come here for a chicken tikka roll at least once a month. Very cheap too!
last summer i came to london from to usa and my girlfriend who lives in london said we have to go at the "Lahor" that the food is so good but i didnt pay much attention until we got there and i tasted chicken methi and aloo gobi...oh my goodness so spicy and so delicious so guess what ...before i came back home i had to go a second time and i also enjoyed the mango lassi...so from now on every time i come to london i have to make a stop or two depending on how much time i have...and i must agree with MissGoodLondon that would be the last place i would eat at if i were on my own...my only complain is that i thought the price was a little too much...since it is a HOLE IN THE WALL sort of place...but nonetheless the food was great...
Lahore Karahi situated on Tooting High Street would be the least likely place I would go to eat an Asian Meal. But a few weeks ago I went to someone’s wedding and after the wedding we decided to stop along here because we were all hungry again.The place looked really busy,but it has a well equipped counter,with a lot of bains-marie- I presume to keep the food at the right temperature so it doesn’t burn, and I have never seen so many cooks in the one place.All of them very neatly dressed with the Lahore Karahi baseball caps and equipped with the deft skill to churn out a huge amount of dishes.
Prices are low, food is chilli-hot and service is speedy.
I actually felt rather shy and intimidated but my friends promptly sat down just sit down and shamelessly started ordering.
Lahore Karahi does not have any alcohol but you can bring your or stick to the exotic fruit juices - mango, guava or passion.
Unusually for what is, at bottom, an unreconstructed grill house, there is a wide range of vegetarian dishes ‘prepared under strict precautions’.
Karahi karela is a curry of bitter gourds karahi saag paneer teams spinach and cheese; and karahi methi aloo brings potatoes flavoured with fenugreek. I ate all this because I have asian friends so I am very familiar with the dishes-most of the dishes are an acquired taste and were all very nice.
Meat-eaters can have some fun too - the chicken tikka, seekh kabab and tandoori chicken are all good and all spicy-hot because I tend look for piquancy rather than heat in hot food.When I cook at home I tend to make sure that I split the chillies and dispose of the seeds- the taste is so much nicer. The only thing I didn’t like is the addition of artificial red colouring.
There are also a twelve chicken curries and twelve or so lamb curries, along with a dozen ‘specialities’.
Those with a strong constitution can try the dishes of the day, like nihari, which is lamb shank on the bone in an incendiary broth, or paya, which is sheep’s feet cooked until gluey. I am afraid none of those dishes appealed to me.
Breads are good here: try the methi naan, or the tandoori roti.
Try the biryanis-they are fantastic with very satisfying portions-I like Basmati rice.
