5 stars for Kariwak Village
Review of Kariwak Village from 15 December 2009

Billing itself as a holistic haven and hotel, the Kariwak Village is an extremely relaxing place to stay. Everything here is kept fairly simple, but the quality and attention to detail is excellent, including the food, much of which is grown on-site.

The only minor downsides are that there is no beach access - you have to walk or use the hotel bus service to Pigeon Point - and you can occasionally hear planes from the airport nearby. However, many of these are propellor planes, so the effect is more Casablanca than Heathrow.

The waters off Tobago are shallow and warm, with plenty of colourful fish - and the island is safe for tourists to wander round, so you don't feel trapped in the hotel compound.
