Icense the prices overthere! Steak house is good, the Meat is great! However 7 euros for 75cl water , Gloops!
However on the down flood you have the coffe shop, extremely expansive and vert bad welcome! The tow guys behind the Bar were really not cool! Advices = 0
Furthermore their purple weeds is very dry and they put a 5 euros extra during the week end!
I don' t recommand this tourist trap!

Review of The Grasshopper from 1 September 2010

The Grasshopper was located close to where I was staying, so it would have been just rude not to pop in once to check out its wares. And, personally, it wasn't to my taste. Whilst it served a good selection of tea, coffee, soft drinks, cakes and err....other, 'more herbal' delights, I found it to be a bit devoid of atmosphere. Its clientele appeared to be mostly made up of American students who were looking to get stoned on incredibly strong skunk as quickly as possible, which felt like a shame seeing as The Grasshopper is located in a prime people watching area. I was just content to sit back, have a smoke and watch the local nightlife float by, without watching some nineteen year old Philadelphian pull a whitey in a nearby trashcan.

Plus, personally, I felt that The Grasshopper was too expensive - 6 euro for a tea and a coffee just felt like a bit of a rip off (particularly as they were the priciest hot drinks we bought during the entirety of our holiday).

It's a nice place to pop into if you're in the area, but don't stay here for too long. After all, there are plenty of coffee shops in Amsterdam - and many of them are much better than The Grasshopper.
