The best thing about Uxbridge station is that it’s wheelchair and buggy friendly - no stairs or escalators! There are toilets there and some shops in the station too. Right in the centre of Uxbridge shopping it’s an ideal way to get get there as car parking and driving around Uxbridge can be busy, fraught and confusing!

Its has been under renovation since I first came to Uxbridge in July 08. The metropolitan line seems to get you into London quicker. Usually I find its kept clean, however it gets a bit dirty when walking around to the bus station or up towards Sainsburys.

Uxbridge station is in Zone 6 of the underground and is served by both the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines, both are well placed to allow easy access to and from central London. The station is very conveniently placed as it is right in the heart if Uxbridge, and as soon as you leave the station you are into the shopping district, with the Chimes shopping centre right next door. Although the building does have character it is in desperate need of a face lift. There are current works underway to improve the station however these seem to have been going on for over 4 years now. The station is also lacking toilet facilities due to refurbishment.

Uxbridge station lies at the end of the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines of the London Underground (though this far out it is definitely more overground than underground), and lies in Zone 6. It is very convenient for traveling from Uxbridge into the centre of London, and such journeys will typically take about an hour. Sometimes one of the two lines does not run trains all the way to Uxbridge, at these times it is simple to catch a train running on the other line, and change at Rayners Lane which always has trains of both lines running during normal operations. The station is currently undergoing a refurbishment, this does not affect access to any of the four platforms, and some interesting temporary art is in place along the platforms during this period.
