“Welcome to The Ealing Park Tavern, hidden away in the South Ealing suburbs. The wood, brick and whitewash exterior, reminiscent of something from a Harry Potter movie, holds many a tale and now we are looking to put our own stamp in the gastro pub...” more...

The best thing to drink though was Strongbow, which at 1.90 a half is rather more expensive than you'd expect in a down to earth, grimey local off the main drag.

A good 'proper’ pub with a good selection of beers, including Bass !. A good place to watch the football and enjoy a nice pint of guinness!

In all my 11 years of gig going to the Brixton Academy I did not know about this place until Friday night when I impromptually went to see the Hives with two friends. When told about the location of this place I was unsure given that the nearby Goose and Whetherspoons are dodgy as hell.
Although this is delight. Great choice of beers, fantastic old Irish guy behind the bar who did not approve of adding blackcurrant to my Guinness. Although it is friendly, cheap, near the the Academy without the crushing and crazy atmosphere pre and post gig. I will be back here for sure and when I return I hope they have added the name painted on the outside of the pub because if I get someone to meet me they will not know if it is the Canterbury Arms or not!

Good proper drinking pub. Great for watching football with a good crowd and always lots of banter. Gets livelier in the evenings and even have the odd dj nights in the big room through the back.

Some may call the Canterbury Arms an Old Man pub, but if you’re looking for a place to sit down and watch the football on a Saturday afternoon, you’d be hard pressed to find a better place in Brixton. 2 42” Plasma TV’s and lots of space. Friendly staff (The Landlord is a liverpool fan) and reasonably priced beer. Definitely a safe pub in Brixton because you are about 20m from the police station!
