Small, simple, pretty, clean rooms, but arranged around gorgeous gardens and sitting spaces. It has a pool, and a pool table.

When we arrived we admitted we were just going to drop our bags and head to the ruins at Ephesus, about 20 minutes away, because we only had the afternoon. The owner quickly arranged complimentary (and delicious) sandwiches for us to fuel up, and suggested the quickest itinerary for us to see the big highlights. He called a taxi to drive us around to do this. When we returned, the owner and his wife were having tea and cakes in the garden with some friends, and they invited us to join them.

That night, they recommended a great seafood restaurant for us. The next morning, because we had an early start, they opened breakfast for us 30 minutes earlier than normal. And they called around to get a good price for an airport taxi transfer.

The only downsides: they don’t allow you to bring your own food and drink into the hotel premises, and the rooms are not at all soundproof against late-night guest arrivals or early-morning calls to prayer from the adjacent mosque. Still, great service.
