Very rude and lack customer care. It is a shame as they stock wonderful brands and are the only proper children shoe and clothes shop in Fulham. I used to buy all shoes and wellies but as the staff is so rude, I feel very unwelcome and prefer to go somewhere else. My kids are constantly told off, for nothing actually, which is a bit odd for a kids store isn't it? I wonder if they actually like children. The staff hardly smiles and seems annoyed by any question you ask. Whenever you buy shoes you are forced to take the box home, which they explain in a very very unfriendly manner, with the reason for exchange. But then when you have an issue with shoes, they refuse exchange, odd. Also, I have had an issue with a refund they refused, for a broken hairband (the bow came off after 10 minutes of wearing), which I think is very strange as they know I was a good customer, who would spend a lot of money in the shop for shoes and clothes. Overall, awful service but good brands. I believe if they would change their service and try to be a bit more polite and child friendly that shop would be great.

We were very sorry to read about your experience at Pollyanna.
Unfortunately we are so worried about children keeping safe that we are careful to be sure they don’t injure themselves. We do provide a variety of toys to help entertain them whilst parents are free to have a look and shop, when we are busy we understand there is not much room to play. Later this year we have a refurbishment scheduled downstairs which will make it more open for everyone.

We cannot exchange shoes simply because we would not survive as a business, our stock levels would be so up and down, also we take great pride in our fitting service and that is thorough, by our long serving highly trained staff but of course takes time.
Hair accessories are so delicate it is not normal practice to exchange, we follow in the footsteps of company policy like Accessorize on this.
We always try our best to give a great choice and service, we regret you did not have this and hope to have a chance to redress this at some point in the future.

What a great shop, staff are knowledgeable and have been there for ages. I always see the same faces which is great. Prices are like John Lewis but the service is better and you dont have to wait long. They always have the sizes in stock (unlike John Lewis) I always got help going down the stairs without asking. Been going for years with my 2 girls and nothing but a good experiance. The falke tights and socks are expensive but last ages. My youngest is now wearing her older sisters and they are like new!

Review of Pollyanna from 24 November 2012
The school shoes I bought for my son in Pollyanna have split down the back on one shoe after just 2 months of wear.  We all know how kids are supposed to take their shoes off - and how they actually do! - but these are school shoes and built to last supposedly and at £54 a pair I would consider them to be faulty to split after so short a time.  I took them to be repaired and was advised that I ought to return them the shop as they were obviously faulty.  My misfortune was that the shop in question was Pollyanna.  I have rarely been treated with less courtesy - I was made to feel like I was trying to get something for nothing and should just buy another pair of shoes.  They said there nothing they could do for me so I asked for the manufacturers details so I could take it up with them.  The icing on the cake was that they refused to give me the manufacturers details as they said they weren't allowed to! What kind of business these days doesn't want to communicate with its customers?! No idea where I will shop for extremely hard to find school shoes but I would rather have no shoes than deal with this shop again. Am only giving one star as it doesn't seem possible to give none.

Please let me know if Ive misunderstood….am I right in thinking you have just admitted your child broke the back of the shoes by not taking them off properly but you are annoyed not to get a new pair of shoes…

Pollyana is a dedicated children's shoe and cloth shop run by highly experienced staff!!!

The children shoes and clothes are quite fashionable and not very expensive and this shop does offer a good choice of leading children designer and sporting brands.

One of the best things about  this shop is that that have a lot of stock and you always find the size you looking for.

The staff are very friendly, happy to serve you  and very careful especially when fitting the shoes checking

( and re-checking with more senior staff) to ensure that the fit is correct.

Highly recommend this shop!

Great shop on the Fulham Road for kids shoes etc. You really get the feeling the staff know their stuff, wouldn't trust my kids feet to anyone else.

During my visit to this shop, the staff were arrogant, rude and surly. They were rude to my wife, rude to my children and refused to refund the woman in front of us whilst conducting a row with another customer elsewhere. I have never encountered such awful service and this in a time when we look to support local businesses. The manager was proud to boast having been in business for 30 years, but in all that time had failed to deal with customers with any shred of manners and had no grasp of customer service. When we complained we were asked not to come back again. I am delighted to say we have complied with this request.

    Dear Bully,
i have noticed your review and was very confused and to be honest in disbelief, due to the fact i have been taking my three children and now my grandchildren to this store year after year and have recieved nothing but professional customer service.
i then realised that you must have nothing better to do with your spare time then dramatise a scenario that may or MAY NOT have happend in Pollyanna! i came to this conclusion when i then noticed you were being rude and going out of your way to comment on others POSITIVE feedback on this store.
i think this is showing more of your childish personality than the friendly personalities of those who do work in pollyanna.

I have two children who are a nightmare to shoe shop with as they have high insteps and wide feet so I dread the twice annual shoe debacle. Since discovering Pollyanna the whole experience has become so much easier as I am assured of a good selection of styles as well as all the assistance I need to ensure that I leave with sturdy, good quality shoes that fit perfectly.

It seems the shop have been recruiting over the weekend. I wouldn’t trust this review.

I have often used this site to check out reviews of local businesses but up till now have never submitted one myself. It was your comments on this site that prompted me to write a review of Pollyanna. I have always had a positive experience from both the quality of the products and with the service provided by the helpful and efficient staff. I felt that an honest positive review of my experiences would balance out the extreme and vitriolic comments that you had posted.

I have been going to this lovely, family run boutique for years. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and always helpful. This is the best place to go for kids shoes - from schools shoes to trainers, I am always confident that the shoes will fit properly and last for ages. They also sell beautiful clothes. Love it!

Great gem of a shop on the Fulham Road to get all the clothes and shoes you will need for the kids. It is my first stop before the new school term to stock up on shoes, socks, trainers, etc. Staff are friendly and very helpful.

Mindcorp, I am a genuine reviewer and do not appreciate you attacking my review. I have had many good experiences shopping at Polyanna and just because you haven’t doesn’t give you the right to dismiss my feedback.

I have always bought my children's shoes here. They have reassuring expertise and really know their stuff. They have also always had what I was after in stock. I think finding a little gem like this shop is a real boon and would recommend it wholeheartedly.

Excellent service. Great range of shoes. Wish the prices were a bit lower, but I guess you pay for  quality. Have bought the girls' shoes here every year for three years and have never had anything but a good experience and good shoes. They always have what I need / want. Happy to recommend them to anyone.

I recently went to this shop (incidentally on my birthday!) to buy two pairs of shoes for each of my two children but was treated with nothing short of contempt throughout my attempts to try on the shoes I liked in the sizes I needed and eventually left without spending any money and feeling really upset. I got little or no help and was, amongst other things, asked not to let the children touch the shoes and to wipe the children’s hands with baby wipes before trying on the shoes. Long story short they made me feel small, unclean and unworthy of their help or courtesy and my kids didn't get their shoes. Can anyone recommend a shoe shop??

I have just come from the Polyanna shop, where I encountered the Rudest most unprofessional and miserable staff I have had to tolerate in years. The manager complained that my children were out of control (daring to take a pair of shoes from the rack!). He told us not to return when we complained as they had been there for 30 years. 30 years and not a shred of manners learnt. Nobody looks happy to work there and the management refused to refund the woman in front of use also. Polyanna sets low personal standards and constantly fails to live up to them. I would rather pay double to go somewhere else.!

Really poor customer service.
Refused to swap our son's (18 mths old) sandals having given us odd sizes. The miss sizing led to him repeatedly tripping over and falling on holiday before we worked out the problem.
When we went to swap were aggressive and rude seeking a receipt. Why on earth woudl we try and return odd sized shoes bought from another store?
From being fans, we will never shop there again. Probbaly lost £100s of business from us and friends who we will warn off.
Claim to be customer focused. Our experience was exactly the opposite.

My friend recommended this shop for back to school footwear and they really came up trumps providing everything we needed. Great find as the back to school stress was alleviated in one visit. Lovely clothes upstairs too.
