One for the tourists, really, what with this being an average kind of restaurant serving pasta and pizzas that relies on the fact that it’s on the Thames as a selling point.
I’ve been here before in the summer, when the (presumably) tiny kitchen struggled to serve a lot of people their food at the same time.
This time round, however, given that this is hardly peak season for people to want to sit on a boat on the river to have lunch, it was just the two of us in the whole restaurant. (There are tables inside, so you don’t have to brave the weather on the outside tables.)
The food was actually better than expected - my special of spaghetti with scallops in a chilli tomato sauce went down very well. The pasta was nicely al dente, and the sauce the right side of spicy.
Service was friendly, speedy yet unobtrusive, which was a major plus point given that it would have been tempting to pay too much attention to their only two customers.
