Téléphérique Grenoble Bastille

I had a good walk up there! The views are beautiful though so is well worth schlepping up the hill and then catching your breath when you make it to the top.

The place feels so rich with history and I could have easily spent a whole day there, daydreaming and looking at the views.

Quite possibly the single most famous tourist attraction in Grenoble. If you visit, you can’t not take a trip up to the Bastille. It’s also possible to walk up, but it’s a good walk, especially in the summer, when it’s better to take the telepherique up and walk down (or trek up early morning before it gets too hot). During the winter take a good jacket - as the summit can be cold. There’s a cafe, and a bar/simple restaurant with great views at the top on the bastille site, and another more expensive restaurant behind the main fortifications.
