Fannys Real Ale and Cider House, Bradford

Quite simply the best drinking pub I’ve been to, ever. Huge selection of great beers, real ales and lagers all served perfectly. Such a shame there isn’t one in London.

Whenever you drive past at night, there is nearly always a small crowd of revellers stood outside drinking “al fresco”...

They aren’t just enjoying the weather (or getting wet if it’s raining!) - they simply can’t find anywhere to sit inside!

It’s a great pub with a lovely warm atmosphere, helped by the fact there are lots of different rooms, staircases and levels to find a comfy spot in.

The only downside is that it’s popularity mean you need a certain amount of luck to actually find somewhere to sit!

A lovely little pub in the heart of Saltaire, it oringinally was a house which was converted into a pub during the times when drinking was not allowed in the area of Saltaire.

The pub has grown in size over the last couple of years, to incorporate more space which is what Fanny’s ale house was always missing. You do still get a lot of people hanging around outside on a busy day, although most of these are probably smoking.

There is always a large selection of real ales on offer, with a lot being locally produced.

Definetely worth a visit if you are in the area. Easy to find as well with it being located on the main road through Saltaire.

Agree with Joanna Bean’s review but the place is impossibly small…get a dozen people in and you’re pushed for space, guess that helps with the atmosphere.

True to it’s name, has innumerable real ales and ciders on tap and bottled. Has cosy feel. Was heaving on Saturday evening with no chance of a table but excellent crowd. THE place to go in Saltaire/Shipley for post-work drinks when the summer evenings finally arrive.
