Reasonable week-end rates, free wifi, free chilled water, automatic check-in/check-out machines will not compensate you for snoring neighbours, noisy air conditioner, heavy sweaty blankets, grubby carpet and blocket water drains.

Dare to come into this hotel except you like to visit St. Pauls Cathedral and Modern Tate Gallery or if someone in your company gets compensation from the hotel for arranging your business trip to the City.

A supposed 4* hotel a stone’s throw from St Paul’s.

You can get a few cheap deals for this hotel on various websites, especially on weekends, as the hotel is in The City and the area is very quiet without the business folk.

The foyer is pretty nice and justifies its 4* brand, however, the room I encountered was barely better than your average Travelodge. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything that your fellow guests are up to. Everything. Great if the only reason you are checked in to this hotel is to spy on the persons in the rooms next to, above and below you. Not so great if you wanted a quiet, classy hotel to spend the weekend in.

The breakfast is buffet style in the restaurant next door at £8.50 a person. Not too bad. The bacon was below par for me, but good choice, I suppose.

Very well located for walking to the South Bank or strolling along Fleet Street up to Covent Garden and Theatreland.

Fairly reasonably business hotel right in the (city) action, with nice views of St. Pauls cathedrale if you’re in the right room. They have some bloody big beds in this place, but there’s not a lot else going on to be honest, so don’t expect to meet anyone interesting…

The weekend rates are very reasonable.
