pepperP: “Fabulous decor. Very attractive and relaxing. Amazing atmosphere, staff were over whelming. To top it up with all of that, the food was mind blowing. Have to say, what a great job they are doing. Will definitely return, and is highly recommended!” more...

I’ve been lucky enough to eat in some of the top 50 restaurants in the world – if St John’s is number 43, the Walpole must be a least number 42, better menu, better cooking, better service, and a much more enjoyable night out.

A rather classy greasy spoon far enough away from Ealing Broadway to keep it for locals and those in the know.
The food is excellent and served on plates hot enough to melt the cutlery - as mentioned above, the sausages are especially something to write home about.
Decor is excellent, with brown paper on the tables and tin advertising signs on the walls. Clientele is mixed and friendly, from builders to local old ladies, and you can almost always get a table.
The kitchen gets a bit shouty from time to time, but the staff are friendly and very careful to make sure you don’t burn yourself on the aforementioned burny plates.
I’ve not been in for an evening meal yet, but it’s on my list of places to get to.

Reliable and very good Cafe. Just what you need good quality cooked English Breakfast.
Wendy is a good front of house and Louis gets it right with the food. I like the Cafe as it provides hearty English recipes.
The quality of ingredients are wonderful and even roast his own ham that you can have with egg and chips.
In the evening Friday and Saturday it is fine dining and you have to book a table.
I have the cooked breakfast here and do not need another meal for 7 - 8 hours. GREAT SAUSAGES. Great start to the day.

Just a great local restaurant. Wendy and Louis only open Fri and Sat but run it as a greasy spoon Mon to Sat. Wendy gives a friendly signature introduction of all items on the menu with a full explanation of the provenance and manner of cooking. Fresh mainly organic produce brought from the London food markets that day. A true labour of love.

Another local Ealing secret. From Monday to Saturday, you can get a big and tasty breakfast at this simple restaurant. Order at the counter and you can have everything from a bowl of cereal to a giant fry-up, from Nescafé to capuccino. It’s reminiscient of an American-style diner, with big portions and an easygoing family feel.
On Friday and Saturday nights, they switch it up serve a great evening menu. It’s a fancier dinner than their simple breakfast menu would have you believe. It’s very popular, so ring and book.
