Review of Puffing Billy Inn from 20 April 2011

I've had mixed experiences at the Puffing Billy. Friends and family have always rated it highly and in fairness there have been many occassions when it has been well deserved. That said, more recent visits (once for a Christmas meal over 2010-2011, and once for a family members birthday) I've been less than impressed with the quality of service, menu options, and the food itself - whilst not terrible- has been far and away from the previous quality.

Give it a a whirl, but I'd suggest caution until someone can confirm standards have risen again!

There is a new head chef - Sean Mcbride who took over the Puffing Billy kitchen in March. Since he has been cooking there I would say standards and quality of food has risen considerably! A new fresh and exciting menu got me salivating! I would reccomend you go and give it a try again!

Review of Puffing Billy Inn from 7 January 2011

Well what can I say! I have eaten here 6 times now lately, I have had a fantastic meal with fantastic service everytime! The staff are friendly and always willing to help, the food has been a measure of perfection on every visit. I will most definitely be coming back and cannot recommend this fantastic pub highly enough!
