They don't allow anyone to eat there under the age of 14.  Thankfully I asked before I booked, otherwise it would have been a wasted 40 mile round trip. Perhaps it's something they should make more obvious on their website.  Well done for being so British and unwelcoming in your attitude towards children!

A great pub – I also recommend the Sunday lunches. The pub recently won a nationwide Best Smoking Area award so it’s great for smokers. The only problem is that most of the non-smokers are also outside. Isn’t it time to relax the smoking ban?

I first discovered this place on a work-organised pub crawl a while back, and kept meaning to come back to it again to see it at a more leisurely pace. i managed that last summer, and am glad i returned. Its now a firm favourite with me and my friends. Its quite a traditional pub in the way its decorated and titled, but it still attracts quite a young and trendy crowd at the weekend. It hosts a really good range of beers, wines and spirits and they pour a mean pint of Guinness here too! I believe they do both bar snacks and main meals here but i havent had the chance to try them, though im told they are good value. The landlord and staff are very friendly here, and i immediately felt welcomed when i first came here. Nice sunny courtyard out the back as i remember too. Check it out!

This pub looks really olde worlde from the outside, but although contained in an old building - the oldest pub in the area apparently - it is fresh and modern inside, with plenty of tables and a couple of cosy window seats. There is a reasonable range of beers available and the food is a little more original than most chain pubs allow for. as the pub is right next to a large hospital, there seems to be quite a lot of staff and patients frequenting the place, along with a few locals, which made for a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The pub has a large roaring fire in the winter, and a lovely bright, well cared for patio garden in the summer - a perfect pub all year round!

I was pleasantly surprised by this pub. It’s just round the corner from the Princess Royal University (or Farnborough) Hospital and the local parade of shops, so given that it’s on a main A road I’d say a significant proportion of it’s trade is passing, although there did seem to be a few locals in there too when I visited. There’s a cracking rear patio which will catch a lot of the sun come the summer and I can highly recommend the Lamb Kofte. So it’s a chain pub, but considering how bad those pubs can be, this one does a good job with friendly service.
