1 review of Le Cracheur in English
Down the street from his famous neighbor, the Mannekin Pis, in downtown Brussels, this statue - le Cracheur, de Spuwer, or the Spitter - sits on a corner outside a gay bar and vents his low opinion of tourists and citizens alike in a never-ending stream of liquid abuse.
Apparently, le Cracheur has been spitting and representing the Belgian sense of (irreverent) humor since the 14th century. We get by every trip to say hello to our favorite fountain, but our attentions never seem to improve his manners. Thank goodness!
