We took a coach party of 59 to the chase restaurant on Friday 24th of feb 2012. Everybody had a very enjoyable evening, the food was excellent and we were all very well looked after. Good value for money. Pity I didnt have a bit more luck with the betting!!!
Well, I have never been to the track but I have been to Romford and indeed know it from a work experience.
Sorry to hear so many sad stories about it , although there is a mixture of goodwill as well.
It provides good Thursday events for me when I get down to working my figures.
I guess for me it would work out expensive as I do not attend sites they just form a platform for me.
just like owning a brand,it has warm connotations for me.

nothing wrong with a good old Saturday night at the dogs, Cheap for drinks and food (however the food is nasty unless you eat in the restaurant not the fast food place.)

Romford Dogs is a cheap and a good night out for the whole family, friends etc.
The atmosphere is great and really gets you in the spirit, the food was avaerage , it wasnt great but it was good, i also found the food to be very value for its money.
The only down fault i had on this place is the parking, it gets really busy and there is only limited amount of car parking facilities.
Overall it was a good night out, especially with a big group of friends, it made the night enjoyable and was a good laugh as you can compete against each other which makes it even more challenging.

I’m sorry, but this place does not even compare to the Walthamstow Dog Track that was recently closed (RIP). Its good if you go in a large group, but its rather dull and lifeless otherwise.
Go there, get drunk and spend your budget. However, when you go home you will feel there was something missing if you have ever experienced going to the Walthamstow track before its closure.

We had a really fun night out here not so long ago. It is definitely a cheaper option than say going horse racing. My one criticism is that parking was very difficult and took a long time. You do not of course have to bet on the dog races but some people say it makes it more of a fun experience. There were lots of people there which made for a great atmosphere. And plenty of beer too though there was always a bit of a wait at the bar to get your order in due to the high volume of other customers.

Romford Dogs is definitely cheap and cheerful looking. But if you want a good fun night out with a group of mates and don’t care what your surroundings look like then it’s a good place to go.
I’d recommend setting yourself a budget of spending as it is very easy to get caught up in the excitement of betting on each race, despite only placing a few pound on a dog.
Parking was a nightmare, with not much available on site and most people end up parking on the street. Would definitely recommend clubbing together and travelling in a group either in a smaller number of cars or taxi etc.
Overall it is a very different night out to the norm and quite inexpensive to boot.

I think this is well overdue a refurb and may be with the walthamstow dogs closing they will do so. Is a great night out however but beware of the parking as there isnt much. Cheap drinks and food and the restaurant is great as it over looks the track. Good for parties. They have some great special offers. Always clean andf tidy but needs updating. Also cheap to get in.

If you like a flutter, and don’t mind the odd bit of sand, Romford Dogs is certainly not the worst place to go. There is a traditional sit down restaurant with good views of the track but most people enjoy the stands either inside or out. The bar is huge & well staffed so liquid refreshment is not hard to come by. Traditional east end “Burger Van” food is available (burgers, chips, sausages and pies) and can be taken out onto the stands so you dont have to miss a second of the action

Romford Dogs is an institution and well known across london. Entry fee is reasonable and discounts are offered (it pays to ask at the gate) Plenty of seats and room and food is available. the food is similar to what would be available at a football match - burgers, chips, nuggets etc. full bar & staff are friendly. If you are going in the winter months, wrap up warm & dont forget the hat & scarf if you want to go outside to watch the big race!

I am a huge fan o fthe dogs, although i do feel that compared to walthamstow this isnt as good, there is still a good atmosphere and variety of people. It can get very busy and there are great places for you to eat/drink and chill out while watching the dogs do their thing!
It is a good night out, especially if there is a large group of you as you can 'compete’ against each other see who wins the most and generally more of a laugh with a large number, although still very enjoyable with any number.
A great night out, and something different to the ordinary nights.

For a group of people up for a laugh, there are few places that could offer this value for money. You want to eat? There is a very decent kitchen that can cater for any numbers. Want to have a drink? There is a bar that doesn’t charge £5 a pint? Want a gamble? Try the Tote. You can place any bet from £1 upwards and the staff taking the bets never take the ‘p’ even when you win £1.83 on a dog race (guess who that was?). The atmosphere gets more excited as the evening wears on and, towards the end, the result of a race and your £1 bet becomes an obsession. Try it, I guarantee there will be few who come away without having a fun evening and there will probably a number promising to return.
