Nothing like the sight of 20 plus kite surfers in the water with various colours filling the sky

This was my home for many years. Nothing quite like taking a few snacks and some wine down to the beach at about 10pm on a summers night and having a light dinner there. Walk up the beach and pick a few mussels from amongst the rocks for dinner and walk back home, all while exercising the dog.
There are more restaurants per square mile along Tableview and Blouberg’s beach front than you can ever imagine. Photo attached :-)

I visited Bloubergstarnd a while ago. This beach is truly a beautiful place to spend the day at, with the white sandy beach and the spectacular view of table mountain in the background. It leaves feelings of utter joy in the mind of those that have visited this extraordinary place. The walk on the beach is that of sheer exurberence, with the ever present wind bustling around you. The water is icy cold so for a mid morning splash of the face or toes, it definately is a wake up call to say the least.

I visited Bloubergstrand recently on one of the hottest days in Cape Town (ps: weather’s great here) and I just have to say that besides the beautiful view, cold, very cold, ice cold water (my feet started paining) there was one thing that I really loved. That was the white sand. It really makes you feel as though everything gets reflected on it and the water just looks so much more blue. So anyone visiting out here please dont forget to stop by to admire the beautiful white sand!! ;)

Remember those post card views you see of Table mountain? Well this is where the majority of those photographs are taken from. The beach is popular with families, sun worshippers and kite surfers. If you’re into Whale watching, you should head down here in the winter months.
