A really beautiful, classic San Francisco theater (with famously tight seats, thus the four-star review). I saw Kiki & Herb here last year, which helped to erase the memory of the Lestat preview performance I endured in January 2006. The producers of that debacle attempted to pair Elton John’s phoned in music with Anne Rice’s stories and came up with a script that made Blade look like Shakespeare. Lucky for you, it went off to New York where it was mercifully killed shortly after it opened. (If you want to read some of the best worst reviews ever, go to the New York Times website and search for “Lestat.”)
