Faneuil Hall (pronounced Fanooey) is pretty much the most famous building in Boston. The old hall has been around for hundreds of years, which by American standards makes it positively ancient. Check out Wikipedia for more details.

It is undoubtably a beautiful building, and nowadays houses a variety of eateries and gift shops (it is a tourist trap afterall). The nearby Quincy Market houses a reconstruction of the Cheers set from the TV show (the outside set and the real Cheers bar are over the side of town.
