Great hotel near the centre of hamburg. Visited on business, and was ideally located for restaurants and other amenities Well designed rooms, very clean. Only downside as other reviews say is charge for wifi which was 9.95€ for 24 hours

Review of Lindner Hotel am Michel from 8 December 2011

I love staying at the Lindner whenever I visit Hamburg. The staff are extremely helpful, the rooms are clean and very well appointed, the bar has a very generous happy hour and stays open till 1am (great if you are on a late flight!).
And, strange as it may sound, if wasn’t staying at the Lindner I would probably seek it out at least one night in Hamburg because their hamburgers are excellent. Properly good go-out-of-your-way-to-find-it hamburgers. This is unusual for what is essentially a quiet hotel bar.
The place would get five stars but they charge for wifi -an inexcusable crime for business hotels in this day and age!
If such things don’t bother you then consider this a five star review.

The Lindner am Michel is one of the hotels that we normally use to house visiting Qype staff and contact.

It’s a very well located 4 star Hotel located in the Neustadt area of the city, about half way between the city centre and the Reeperbahn / Planten and Blomen park

Highlights include nicely appointed rooms, a very large breakfast buffet and a bar that serves cocktails and beer plus does the largest hamburgers you could eat.

Downsides are 14 euro for the hamburger, and the heavy price of the buffet at about 12 euro.

A great hotel in Hamburg for your business trips. Located near the city centre, by St. Michaelis Church, it also has a restaurant, bar and conference facilities. For around €130 you have a large & high standard bedroom. Staff is helpful and friendly.

I only ate in the restaurant once but I found the dishes delicious: beef carpaccio as a starter and fried plaice with vegetables as a main, both excellent.

The hotel that you have to stay in if you're staying a few nights in Hamburg and don't want to compromise on comfort. The building appears new and the architecture is very modern. The rooms are well designed and at least four star. Mine was very spacious at least 20m2 but I think maybe I was upgraded.. Very good reception.

The 4* Hotel Lindner is relatively centrally located. The rooms and the whole hotel are new and modernly equipped. For the ambitious nicotine friend, you have smoking rooms. Despite the central location, the rooms are quiet at night and look nice with the free-standing shower. As a point of criticism, I can only mention the hefty parking fee of 20€/day. I did not use the Restaurant and breakfast buffet.

Are you looking for a hotel for your next trip to Hambourg? Or for a short weekedn stay? The Lindner hotel is simply the best value for money hotel in its category. For about 100 euros, you will have access to a high end establishment, modern rooms which offer all the comfort of this type of hotel: TV, wifi connection, as much tea and coffee as you like... The hotel also has a very nice bar and restaurant, which come in handy as the street it's on is not very lively, especially at night... 5 minute walk from the Rödingsmarkt and St Pauli stations, I highly recommend this hotel for all visits in Hambourg.

This is a new, clean hotel, great facilities and seemingly well kept at all times.
The staff are a little gruff, not sure of that was a cultural barrier or a response to showing a round of English passports and then explaining we would be back very late from a party, but I felt they could have been a little more accessible.
The only thing about the room that was a bit odd was in a twin they had a shower without a closed off room, made of transparent glass. I would think traditionally if you're in a twin, vs a double, it means you don't want to see your room mate naked... perhaps that's just me?!
But it is great value and close to town, so I would go back.

A great, comfy, budget hotel in the middle of Hamburg.

I've stayed in my fair share of dodgy Hamburg hotels and the Lindner is by far the best in my opinion (even if I do have a bit of trouble saying the name - too many Ns!).

The rooms are really nice, spacious, well-designed. It's not noisy (you can't here doors slamming from three floors away), and it's really well located.

They will try and rake some money back from you with their twenty euro breakfast, but there's plenty of places nearby where you'll get a better deal.

The Lindner is a hotel that's luxurious to a point while still being affordable - around a hundred euros per night for a double room in a fairly central spot. The entrance and hallways are spotless and the staff are all neatly in place. That said I was only slightly put off by the concierge who weren't terribly friendly and a pity that we were not able to check in or even know of our room numbers as we were an hour early before standard check in. Check in time is udnerstandable but when a room can't yet be allocated and we're told our bag will 'be in your room' when you return tonight after your Christmas party, it's a little disconcerting.

That said we were able to check in fluidly on our return and found the rooms very comfortable and modern with a notably 'open' glass shower should you be sharing with someone you don't know very well (Oh-look-I-can-see-all-of-you-from-any-where-in-the-room well).

Didn't have time to try the food or room service as we were only here for a total of around 5 hours but would definitely stay here again.

Great room, beautiful and clean. Unfortunately the service quality since last year has decreased drastically (the service/? has been stopped). My negative experiences were: unflexible when booking rooms, booked room category wasn't ready at 4pm. Only told when I took the room, got a drink voucher instead which was only valid for a few mentioned drinks (said differently), apparently the overstated price of the booked room category should have been re-imbursed (for the remainder I did get the voucher apparently) no mention of apology or cooperation. I shall think again whether I book the Lindner again during my next Hamburg visit.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The public areas are spacious clean and pleasant and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in.The shower was great too ! Its in a quiet street but not far from anywhere in Hamburg and there is a pleasant park nearby. I wish I had read the previous review about the 20 Euro breakfast before we tried it. We had breakfast nearby on most days but as it was raining we decided to eat in. True it was a great breakfast with enormous choice, so that anyone would be happy but as the exchange rate is about one to one at the moment its a bit steep. Fine if you are on a business trip though, and a good choice nontheless

Lindner Hotels strike the right balance between luxury boutique style and fuss-free functionality with extremely comfortable beds, spacious room layouts and understated decor. On my stay in Hamburg I had a room with a beautiful view over the rooftops of the city and a vigorous power shower that set me up for the rest of the day. Perfect.

I took a wander around the very decent fitness suite but preferred to enjoy the spring sunshine by taking a run in the nearby Planten und Blomen park, which takes you all the way up to the TV tower if you’re up for it. It’s worth the trip for the gorgeous gardens and ponds that pepper the route. The hotel’s also within easy walking distance of the Reeperbahn, if that’s more your sort of thing.

So, a very nice hotel indeed, but don’t fall for the 20 EURO breakfast con - if you turn left out of the front entrance, walk for a few minutes and turn left again you’ll come across a lovely market square which has a few good cafes dotted around and fresh fruit for sale. 20 EURO is always better spent outside a hotel!

I cut to the chase without great details: a new and very beautiful hotel! I was there with a friend shortly after the opening and we felt very comfortable there. It is clean, WONDERFULLY furnished and for that really not too expensive. It's a shame I couldn't use the wellness area due to time constraints but it sounded very attractive.

I have stayed in many hotels in Hamburg and to be honest I haven’t found one that ticks all the irght boxes until now. This is an ideal hotel for the business traveller. The hotel is nicely furnished with a decent bar and restaurant. The rooms are a good size with flat screen TV’s and furry throws on the bed, and I have to say the bed was extrememly comfortable!
I had room service which was quick and the food was really nice as was the food served at breakfast.
All in all highly efficient and very comfortable with a price tag that doesn’t break the bank. I would have no hesitation in recommending this to a friend.

This hotel doesn’t seem to have been picked up by the English community yet, but perhaps soon will be.

It is a classic 4 star business hotel, modern (even stylish), clean, efficient with good facilities (gym/sauna etc though no pool). The rooms are a decent size, the breakfast buffet presents a wide choice and the one dinner I have had there was of a very good standard, again with quite a wide menu.

It is tucked away on a quiet side street though easy walking to the centre or to UBahn.

But best of all, it is tremendous value - all the quality and service of a good business hotel at half the price of the more obvious names.

I stay in Hamburg frequently and this looks set to become the first choice hotel.
