this art museum is one of the best in the United States and has sponsored impressive shows on Monet and John Singer Sargent. The MFA has outstanding collections of Impressionist art, early American art and artifacts, and Asian and Egyptian art. The museum also hosts lectures, musical performances and films.

The museum of fine art in Boston is pretty huge. Be prepared for a long walk!

It compares favourably to most galleries that I’ve been to, but unfortunately I was feeling rather jaded the day that I walked around (just gotten off a plane from the UK), so found it tough to get excited about anything much.

In a city so full of academic institutions, it can be overwhelming to try and see them all. But the Musuem of fine art is a must.
a great collection of the masters, new art and a massive collection of Archaeologic finds from every continent.

Free after 4 on wednesday, a great places to go if wanting to make a day of it in boston and need to kill some time before dinner
