The Punchbowl Country Pub & Restaurant

I`ve eaten at the Punchbowl on a number of occasions and find the food is of the highest quality, the atmosphere is informal and friendly and the staff have a fantastic attention to detail and are professional, courteous, polite and friendly.
Paul and Jasmin are excellent and make you feel at home from the moment you walk up to the bar.
The menu is varied and changes to show off their chef's skills.
Local produce is used extensively and all food is cooked to perfection.

Well worth a visit - just off the main A6 in between Preston and Garstang.

Genuinely quaint country pub, no plastic oak beams here. Black sheep ale makes it a pleasure for beer lovers and good food makes it popular with foodies. On my last visit I had the steak and ale pie and it was enormous! It came with wonderful chunky chips and a jug of gravy, though no vegetables of any description which was a shame. The menu has a local flavour with Fleetwood fisherman's pie, Morecambe potted shrimps, Pilling salt marsh lamb and more. Also a surprisingly rare find in Lancashire pub food...Lancashire hotpot, albeit in the form of a starter. A word of warning though, if you're planning to have the steak and ale pie I'd give the starter a miss! :-)
