I went here with two friends. I thought the food was great. It reminded me of the Danish cafe in Bristol I used to be taken to all the time when I was a child.
However one of my friends is having chemotherapy and cannot eat grainy bread. When she told them, they said there was nothing they could do – the soup came with extremely grainy bread. End of. This was a bit odd as there was fairly normal white bread in some of the open sandwiches. I have no idea why they couldn’t get her some to go with her soup.
Very busy at lunchtime – or just TMI perhaps?
Still, I would recommend it to anyone who doesn’t have issues about not being able to eat too much fibre. !!!
Also don’t turn up at 5pm expecting there to be some food left. Big mistake.

Not really sure about the scandinavian-ness of it though; I live near Denmark and go there a lot as well as Stockholm. If they wanted the true Scandinavian experience they just need to double the prizes and turn the heat up a lot...
Only joking, a very nice place and well worth visiting...

Great to have a place to buy some of my Norwegian favourites. I always get tempted by the food and cakes, so I need to come here for lunch soon.

It was one of those days when I needed herring. There was no herring… How come there was no herring?!
So I had salmon… nice canapes they were!
Coffee? OK.

Delicious coffee and cake, friendly service, and I love the Scandi-themed puns on the A-board outside:
“Abba nice day”!

What’s to be said that hasn’t been said before?
There’s nothing like it in London, the food is affordable, the staff and friendly and they have free wifi.
It’s just awesome.

If you are looking for Scandinavian food. This is the place to go. They have all the traditional products from the northern countries. From the bread to the drinks. As a food enthusiastic, I always try new food. The sandwiches are fresh, delicious and have a particular taste that you won't find anywhere else/

Bronteblomhoj, 1 July 2011:
I only visited this place for the first time today, but now I have, I'm sure I'll be back far more often than my bank balance or waistline will thank me for. The decor is clean and cheerful, managing to walk the tricky tightrope between rustic and modern, and the downstairs seating area means that even when the ground floor is hectic, you'll still be able to wolf down your meatball feast in relative peace.
Like Eamon, I'll be sure to try the cakes next time, the smell of cinnamon buns is my kryptonite! But for today, my meatballs accompanied by a mixture of three salads was fresh and filling, although the feta and tomato salad far outstripped the other available offerings. As a cheeky bonus, their daily changing pun-tastic signs at the front of the shop often make me smile on the way to or from work.

For someone who was going to Ikea for years before realising that it's Swedish, my Scandanavian radar isn't that reliable. Besides, stocking up on north European goods isn't usually on my to-do list.
What I occasionally need this place for, they deal with admirably: a swift, fresh and good value lunch. The meatballs come with a choice of three, fresh salads, although today I plumped for scoffing a hot dog that only set me back a mere £2.50. The fruit salad didn't strike me as the freshest of the century, though that's just an observation and not a complaint.
The service is efficient and friendly and as I write this I am completely devastated that I for once found the willpower not to load up on cakes; be warned, I have their Scandanavian tea cakes well and truly in my sights.

Lovely place esp in winter.
Not much outdoor space otherwise.
The Fitzrovia Women Writers'
Group met here for years till
it got so popular that we couldn't
hear ourselves speak. The staff
are charming, the food is wonderful
& the shop is great too. A lovely
introduction to Scandanavia : it
motivated me to visit Stockholm,
which I really enjoyed also.
