First time I have seen Blood Brothers and really enjoyed it.
Natasha Hamilton was playing the part of the mother and the girl can definitely sing. My favourite was Philip Stewart who plays the Narrator... amazing voice and stage presence. the whole play felt seemless and entertaining, I dont normaly like musicals but this kept me listening through out.
Great acting all round. All had good singing voices.
It say's that this play is for age 12+.. I am not a prude in any way but I would have been very unhappy if any 12 year old child of mine had been watching, the swearing and sexual remarks were quite strong in the middle of the play. I was quite taken back by it. I understand the context of it, maybe I wasnt expecting it and didnt see it as necessary. I would recommend 15-16 years and upwards to take your children, unless of course you dont mind the F'word and many references to breasts, (yes I know they hear worse at school..! ;-)
Great experience, quaint theatre.. definitely worth a visit.
Wonderful performances in a thoughtful and emotional musical that delivers some great comedy and choking tragedy. Seating in the upper circle of Phoenix Theatre was designed for 5 foot tall Victorian audiences.

A very moving musical about two twins separated at birth. The accents can be a bit dodgy sometimes but otherwise the acting is great. The refrain that's repeated throughout can get a bit annoying but I can guarantee you'll be singing it when you leave, if you're not crying too much!

This is an amazing production. its a bit different to the big musicals you may go to. But this is a must see. I studied this for GCSE and after that saw it everytime it was in theatre.
The ending is amazing and they really make you jump and make you think OH MY GOD .... but you will have to go and see it to see what i am talking about!!
It's really sad in parts and the story is very touching. It;s easy to follow even the musical parts.
Anyone who see's this, who appreciates threatre will love it.

Take your tissues!
I’ve now seen this show twice and, despite knowing the story, it’s still so believeable and enjoyable that I’ve ended up in tears.
A Liverpudlian accent is incredibly hard to do and the actors are brilliant.
I definitely recommend this show, there’s lots of places that you can get cheap tickets and it’s one of the best shows I’ve seen - which is why it’s been running for so long.

One of the saddest things I have ever seen! I cried from the opening scene until the same scene right at the end! I still can’t listen to the song 'Tell me it’s not true’ without feeling the same emotion I did when I was there. The story follows two 'blood brothers’ through their intertwining lives until ultimately, their deaths.
Lynn Paul was in the lead role when I watched and she was fantastic, as were the rest of the cast. Well worth a watch, especially as tickets go for as little as £20 on lastminute.com.

A wonderful musical that is often forgotten about! Known as the standing ovation musical, the emotional story of two brothers separated at birth!

This is a wonderful, wonderful show that you absolutely must see. It’s been running for years with many different casts, but is fantastic no matter who is in it.
Based in Liverpool, it tells the story of twins separated at birth - one is brought up in a poor family, the other in a rich family. Inevitably they meet again.
The songs are wonderful and sum up life in working class Liverpool. The cast really throw themselves into each performance and you can see how much it must take out of them.
Blood Brothers is funny, tragic and incredibly moving - it seems to get a standing ovation from the audience at every performance.
See it, and bring your tissues!

The best musical in town. This musical does not get enough credit and it deserves the most. The actors are amazing and so sincere, I laughed, cried, was angry, happy - every emotion ran through my body as i was led through the story of two boys. Even when i knew the ending it didnt stop me drowning in tears at how sad it was. There was a well deserved standing ovation
One tip is sit in the stalls and close to the front so you can see the faces of the actors

Blood brothers is a truely amazing show, having seen it 3 times now I absolutely love it. In quite a small but very nice theatre, blood brothers is not just singing and dancing, but a heartbreaking story that gets you so involved. The actors/actresses are very talented, and convey the emotions of the plot fantastically.
You can get great deals on blood brothers from the net with lastminute.com etc. or even with the 2for1 deal when you buy a london travelcard. Definately a must.

Got a great deal on lastminute.com with the theatre tickets and a meal at a resturant included, jsut remember to let the resturant know you are going for the showm so they dont take their time serving you food or bringing you the bill. Loved the show, was funny and sad and worked well.
The perfomers were very good and entertaining.
Was a good story line and great music. I would recommend it, we had a great evening

This is one of my all time favourite shows. Plenty of laughs but tinged with sadness. You’ll laugh and you’ll cry which is all you can ask for in a show. One of the Nolan sisters was in it when I went and she was great in the role. There are great deals on lastminute. com and for £20.00 you can get a show ticket and a pre-show meal.

This musical is a drama and although it is scattered with a few good laughs it will bring tears to you eyes.
Telling the story of two good friends from the opposite sides of the railway tracks, it holds all the hate and drama of class differentiation and the hope and tenderness of good friends. After becoming blood bothers, the musical tells the story of their winding lives, the different experiences and challenges for the rich and the poor, their obsession with guns and the girlfriend that ties them together.
This is one of the West End musicals that feel most like a traditional play, but is beautifully written with the music adding to the story and the same themes cleverly linking the various acts together.
The actors are excellent and although their singing is not always of the best quality, the acting makes up for it. The set is beautifully done and although there are only a few scene changes, these are dramatic and the smaller props are intelligently used to change the scene.
At the Phoenix theatre the layout means the upper level seats have excellent views and sound – even though they are the cheap seats.
Although not right for a Friday night laugh, this musical drama is sensitive and beautiful and well worth going to see.
