Magpie & Stump

We visited the magpie and stump in 2011 while on a weekend trip to wales, our first impressions were that it was a friendly, family orientated pub and the staff were absolutely fantastic... on member of staff who made us feel most welcome and like we had been visiting for years was a young man named Mark, we think his manners and and welcoming were second to none... we will deffinatley be visiting again and hope the young man will still be employed by them.
i would give this establisment 6 stars if i could

To say im upset is an understatement!!!!

cecil dragged me to this shoddy mexicana eatery, the head man , terry, very mexican, greeted us with a wicker, yes wicker sombrero. cecil claimed to have visited before, as he loves the stump. I dressed for the occasion thinking it was a cricket theme based brassirie in cricket whites, cecil had adorned himself in a mexican rattler outfit with cuban heels, he was a disgrace, what a bad boy he was though he looked rather dashing.

I was offered piss poor starters nothing mexican about this place apart from shoddy slow service which i have come to expect from mexicans ever since i saw that film.

Shant visit there ever again, myself and cecil went home. he went with a tail between his legs , a very long tail in that outfit, i gave him whatfore when we got over the threshold.

Nice American-feel bar with reasonably priced food. The food is done by Angies Cafe now in April 2011, it is not mexican any longer. Whilst you have to pay food and drinks seperately both are very reasonably priced. Pub was very clean and staff very friendly.

We stayed at palins in sept 10 and went to magpie and stump for 3 meals plus twice for drinks ,I have to say that the staff were very freindly and the food was top class freshly cooked and hot there were four of us and mmost of the time at least two people had different meals each saying how nice they were. on top of this for a busy pub it was spotless and the drinks and meals were reasonably priced .
May not gpo back to same site as I never do but would definatley eat in magpie again
