I happened upon 1st Move International from a search online for companies capable of moving families overseas.

From the first call to make enquiries and try to better understand costs and logistics, the team was first rate - all questions answered immediately and the quote on the basis of description alone was about as near as one could hope.

The process of physical removal through paperwork completion and landing our possessions in the US was seamless and without any unnecessary complications one might expect from such an undertaking.

I cannot recommend the company and its people highly enough if you face simple or complex moves. Friendly, efficient and above all else what I deem to be very good value for money.

Before moving to Dubai I checked out a few International removal companies and then settled on 1st Move. I also read a few reviews about the company and it appeared as though 1 person had unfortunatley had a bad experience which did not put me off 1st Move because in the grand scheme of shipping, nothing is 100% certain. Believe me, I used to work in logistics. So I made contact with the sales guy who wasted no time in sorting out a quote which I was happy with. Then I packed my stuff (quite randomly) and waited for the 1st move guys to come and get it. They were on time and very efficient and even sorted out some of the wrapping that I had already made a mess of. My advice is to just let them get on with it, as it helps them concentrate on where to put things in the van. They did this quickly and the end result was, I could see my things where being looked after as they were packed in propery and secured properly. All along I was dealing with Tessa who I found to be 100% all through and with her collegue Dave in the background, I was never left wanting for answers because different things crop up during the processs and Tessa helps put your mind at ease. I then moved to Dubai and cleared my own stuff at customs which is a bit loborious, in fact it wastes a whole day and coupled with sorting out removal men took longer than expected. This is no fault of 1st move's, just the way it is when dealing with 3rd party logistics people and of course the red tape. I opted for a local company callede Union movers who were a team of 4 guys, who turned up at gate 7 jebel ali where I had to meet them with a delivery note (you have to get this the day before from the shipping agent, i.e. the company who owns the ship that your stuff came on). This document along with your bill of lading (a document that 1st move gives you) is all you need to clear stuff with customs. Then the removal guys pick your stuff up and take it to an inspection bay. We did that but noone came to inspect, and they said they were happy. So I shot off home to wait for the removal guys to turn up with my stuff. The biggest delay was waiting for them because they needed a gate pass to get out, and Emirates have a way of keep Indians waiting (the removal guys were Indian). When my stuff arrived the removal guys unpacked and even put my bed together. So now I'm here and I can honestly say 1st Move were great from start to finish but please people remember if you get hit with a few hidden costs, its not 1st move at faut its just red tape. All in all the process will be a little more expensive than your budget because you might have to hire another van or you might need to pay minimal handling charges for the people who use fork lifts to move your stuff. Thats it in full, so now to make some money and enjoy living in another country.... 1st Move International, especially Tessa, you have made this an easy transit and I will use you again :)

I used 1st Move to ship my personal possessions from the UK to the US when I moved for work recently. I would definitely recommend 1st Move - everyone I dealt with at the company was helpful and gave me accurate information and instruction along the way. Their cost was comparable to other company's I looked at, but my main reason for choosing them was the fact they pack and ship your things as palletised freight, meaning your things will depart on the next available commercial vessel, rather than grouping lots of customers' items in their own container and waiting for this to be full before it departs. This means it arrives in 2-3 weeks rather than 2-3 months which is what most large international removals companies will quote. When my possessions landed in the US 1st Move put me in touch with the local shipping agent and delivery company, both of which also did a very good job.

When we first looked at sending our vehicle to Australia from the UK we did the usual thing and went online. From the very beginning, 1st MI were the cheapest, but being sceptical continued to look around as often you 'get what you pay for'

After speaking to some other Agents and not being very enthused, we decided to get back onto 1st MI and at all times the staff were knowldegable and friendly and arranged for the vehicle to be shipped with only a couple of weeks notice. Would definitely recommend these to friends and colleagues, and use again if required - thanks to Andrew, Graeme et al. Greg S and Family

I would recommend 1st Move International without any hesitation. Their operation is efficient and easy to deal with. Their handlers are friendly and professional. Goods arrived after a 7000 mile journey without any breakage or loss, and well wrapped up against the elements. Good job.

I live on the west coast of Canada and recently purchased on-line, a sports car in Wales. There were many details to be sorted out regarding the import of the vehicle which started with getting it across the Atlantic.
In this regard, I selected Autoshippers International Car Shipping. I can't imagine having made a better decision. Roy Hayball and Andrew Denyard were extremely helpful. They were well versed in all aspects
concerning shipping, quick to answer my many questions and explain options available to me, patient and most friendly to speak with. I'm grateful. Oh yes, the car's a beauty!

I have used 1st Move 5 times over the past 4 years to ship vehicles from the UK to the US. I have been able to do everything from the US via email. Even had trouble and the folks at 1st move went out of their way to assist me. I plan on using them again !

Used 1st Move International for my move from the UK to the US, and must say they did an excellent job. Never having done this before I needed quite a bit of support, and absolutely everyone I spoke with was friendly and helpful. The boxes were picked up from my house right on time and arrived in perfect order. My costs were exactly as quoted, and payment was straightforward. For those of you doing this for the first time please remember that costs are based on size not weight, and there will be some additional charges at the destination for handling / customs etc. That said, my total costs were exactly as outlined! Great job 1st Move International.

I used 1st Move International a few months ago to transport my car to Southampton and then off to the US via ship. The whole experience was 1st class: The final costs were perfectly in line with their original quote, , the contact person assigned to me (Andrew) was informative, attentive and friendly, and my car made to the US in perfect condition. I'd recommend the company to anyone searching for a quality moving/tranport company. I'll be using them again!

I have to say that 1st Move Intl exceeded our expectations with regard to your shipping services. I think we only had one broken wine glass, which was due to our poor packing. We didn't realise how much re-packing they had done, but we were very thankful that they had. The information that was provided prior to the shipment and the courtesy of the staff was also first rate, even when I haggled them over the price. We will certainly recommend you to any of our friends who are planning on moving overseas.

Couldn't have been easier. Emigrated from South West UK to Toronto, Canada.
1st Move International came to our house and blitzed it in a few hours. Punctual, professional and polite collection guys. Frequent liaison from the office was very reassuring. Then we fly out and 2 weeks later get an email to say our consignment is on time and due in. Liaised with local agent, had customs rubber stamp it (although that does require a visit to the remote office (not too big a deal)). I arranged a removals company this end to collect from the customs warehouse and deliver to my front door.
All items pristine and conscientiously protected.
Job done. At a stressful time (family emigration), 1st Move International certainly took the stress out of that component.
BTW I researched a lot of companies and for what you get, their prices are very competitive.

All round good!

The man that picked it up from me in UK was lovely..and pretty hot!

It arrived in Oz the exact date they'd informed me. Then put me in touch with a company who could arrange all the customers malarky. Who then helped transport it up to me 6000km away from the port. So all round super!

The cost to ship it over with this company was real good, but i was shocked about how much i had to pay for the customs, that was my bad though, should have done my home work!

I recently moved from the UK to New Zealand. I got a number of quotes for shipping some household goods. In the end I decided to go with 1st move as I found them helpful on the phone and they came in average to the others in price.

Once hired I found the team helpful and they answered all of my little and big questions so that I was comfortable through the entire process. My goods have all arrived in the condition that they were packed in. Which some I packed myself and others I had the company do professionally.
I thought the team were quick and efficient and I would definatley recommend them.

The only bit I was unsure about was the organisation of the agent on the otherside (New Zealand) as there was no contact prior to picking up and shipping of my goods.
However the agents in New Zealand were also helpful, quick and efficient even though there were strikes in the ports over here.

Thanks again to all the team, it helped make our move much easier.

I had a great experience with Ist Move – an 8000Km move by van, boat and train. What did the success of the move consist of? Firstly, everything getting there in one piece! But also the brilliant bedside manner of all the people I dealt with on the phone and in person. Polite, fun, personable and professional. But most important, they were tolerant and patient with my high level of anxiety!

I had a fabulous experience with this company! Amazing, friendly, and attentive customer service from start to finish. All my various needs and requests were handled promptly and professionally, and they really went the extra mile to ensure everything was handled the way I wanted it to be.

Moving countries can be a hassle, but it really felt seamless this time!!

Just want to say thanks for your help and efficiency in shipping my personal effects to Boston from the UK.
I unpacked all the goods yesterday and they were very well wrapped indeed – this is my fifth international move and your guys did an excellent job of not only securely packing delicate objects but also using the space efficiently to minimise excess bulk. It was a smooth operation from start to finish.

To be honest I thought the service was awful.

I have ended up paying over three times the amount of what I budgeted for the shipment, and only have the advice of the team to blame for this, and the fact that the measurement process is so vague and done too late in the process for you to do anything about it. I was told that the removal men were border line retarded and that they asked family to help pack goods that were specifically listed as insurance items, so required ‘professional’ packing. They failed to advise properly on the costs involved on collection of goods and the partner organisation (in Australia) have got to be one of the least helpful and rudest companies I’ve ever dealt with.

All in all I’d say the service was diabolical, I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. Might look cheap in comparison, but expect to pay first rate costs for third rate service service.

I have now used 1st Move to ship my personal belongings to Canada for the third time (surely a record of some sort!) Service was as usual cost-effective, efficient and friendly. Particularly impressed this time as had to organize from abroad. Everything arrived amazingly packed and intact. Highly, highly recommended!

We are living in New Zealand and needed to ship some items that we purchased on line in the UK.
1t move international took a lot of stress out of the process and ensured our items arrived, at the stated time, intact and undamaged.
We were kept informed at every stage of the process and felt very comfortable with the information provided.
The competative pricing also meant that it was cost effective to personnally import new goods from the UK.
I would highly recommend this company.
