I live just over the road from the Jade Buddha Temple and i must say its about the only thing worth seeing for tourists in this area of Shanghai. It is kept in good condition compared to some other sites that i have seen in Shanghai and other Chinese sites and so is worthy of four stars.
I have heard many times that the vegetarian restaurant inside is worth a try too.

One of the rare Buddhist temples in the city, closed between 12pm and 1pm. You can still see monks there and Chinese people who come to pray and burn offerings.
Price: 10 yuan for entry into the interior of the temple and another 10 yuan to see the Jade Buddha.
When you enter into the temple, touts from the temple shop will tell you to follow them for the tour, which, of course, you mustn’t do, unless you want to buy some knick-knacks.
At the rear you will find a pool where you can feed some fish, which are said to be one hundred years old.
Time needed for the visit: around 1 hour 30mins
