1 review of Sweet Sour Express in English
Overall: BAD chinese...
Prawn toast: £3.75 for 2 slices. And I couldn't taste much of the prawn.
Rice: Generous portion. The only good thing I found.
Lemon chiciken... I'm afraid is absolutely awful. They say it's crispy lemon chicken, but it was soggy, very breaded, barely any chicken there, and not as large a portion as what I regularly get from So's kitchen on the other side of the station. If I hadn't been hungry, I'd have tossed it straight in the bin.
Spring rolls: They look more like... umm... Well... they're BIG. sadly, most of that is pastry, and the filling is almost exclusively soy bean sprouts. Boring.
So if you want good (and cheaper) chinese, head to So's kitchen, forget Sweet n sour express. They're not worth it.
Their only redeeming qualities: They use plastic tupperwares instead of aluminum one-use ones, and their chilli sauce is delicious. Oh, and if you do takeaway there's a 20% off their listed menu prices. But at those prices, I'd never do delivery.
lindas66 I think both So's kitchen and sweet n sour express poor excuses for chinese take away! Chicken curry from So's was a bright yellow colour, tasted nothing like curry and had complimentary free hair in. Sweet n sour express again yellow curry not as yellow as So's and no hair but tasted nothing like a chinese curry and agree with pancake roll , all pastry and no filling.
