More 3.5 than 3 or 4…....however I have stayed here, before it was re-furbished…..although it was comfortable, I expected more for a 3star hotel. Having said that, they have an excellent chef….and the food is outstanding. The fresh cod and haddock hang over the sides of you platter and the chips are hand cut and chunky and a lovely golden brown. A very exstensive menu of all local seafood dishes and wholesome Northumbrian fare…...with local lamb, beef, pork and game all served in a congenial atmosphere either in the bar with the local folk or in the superb restaurant. After being stuffed with food you can take a stroll down to Craster fishing village harbour which is about 15 mins. walk…....this is a real old world fishing harbour….still working, and adjoins the smoke houses for the world famous ‘Craster Kippers’.....if you’ve never had em’ you’ve never lived!!!!!!!!!
The Cottage Inn Hotel is a few minutes from the spectacular Northumbrian Coast. Situated in 6 acres of sheltered woodland gardens it has 10 en-suite ground floor bedrooms. All of which have been renovated and re-furbished and now offering comfortable spacious accommodation overlooking the large rear lawn.
Northumbria is one of the UK’s best kept open secrets with miles of fine spacious uncrowded beaches, unspoilt countryside, dozens of quiet villages set against the backdrop of the Cheviot Hills, some of the most beautiful scenery found anywhere.
The accommodation (including all public rooms) are on one level so disabled guests are well catered for. The fully licensed ‘Harry Hotspur Restauarant’ and the charming conservatory lead into the secluded gardens and patio. Carefully prepared food, friendly service and an old world atmosphere.
Open all year round including Christmas…......but shhhh!!!..don’t tell anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
