This pub is a Port Douglas institution. It’s an old (for Australia) wooden building sitting on the corner of the two busiest streets in town. It has two large levels of people drinking cold beer and eating tasty food.

Downstairs tends to be a little louder. Large groups of people sit and stand both inside and out, the beer flows freely at the taps, and a band will play popular pub tunes in the evenings.

Upstairs, and the side patio, has more diners and there are tables small and large. Upstairs is a great place to watch all the activity, both daytrippers and nightlife, on the streets below.

The ubiquitous meeting-place in Port Douglas.
