Having looked for a decent restaurant with not the usual tourist rip off, we found nearby the famous Ponte Vecchio the Golden View Open Bar.

Having opened in April 2002 the design is quite modern and in total the restaurant comes with three areas - the main restaurant, the winebar and the pizzeria. Though the whole location is rather big, it might be better to reserve your table beforehand as especially after 9.00pm it becomes a bit crowded.

Reasons for this are not merely the food which ranges from typical Tuscan cuisine to light Mediterranean, but more the unmatched view at the Ponte Vecchio and the Torre di Arnolfo, with the Galleria degli Uffizi on the right and the Corridoio Vasariano opposite the river Arno.

The waiters are very attentive, which does not stop after the complimentary sparkling wine at the entrance, and you can enjoy some great modern artworks as well besides the sight and the food. Afterwards we learned that from time to time also some live jazz sessions are held in this place.
