Hounslow Library

I really don't like this library. I think it was put in in the 80's and hasn't changed since.
This place just lacks character.
In my opinion a library should be relaxing and inspirational and this library is lacking in both.

Good location right in the centre of town and quite a vast selection of books and multimedia access.

When i was younger i never liked libraries and i personally think it was because i was taken here by my parents and with my primary school.

Hounslow library is on the second floor of the Treaty Centre. It’s the central library in the borough. It has quite an impressive selection of kids and adults books for a library, and I find that occasionally I can even find a specialist social sciences book there (I’m a student!).

Hounslow library has a great online catalogue of its books which allows you to reserve books online, from the library itself and other libraries in the borough, which will be delivered to your local library free of charge - very handy!

This particular branch is relatively big.

Overall, I’m pretty impressed with Hounslow’s library service and would definitely praise it!

Great when I was a student, good selection of books

Hounslow is not the most upmarket of places but it has something that not many suburbs of London share - an exceptional library service. And the central library in the Treaty Centre is the best of them all. It is well stocked with all kinds of fiction and reference books. There are books and DVDs in many languages, especially South Asian languages and the staff is unfailingly helpful and polite. You can order any book in the catalogue online and be informed by post or email free of charge when it arrives at your library of choice. A truly splendid service.
