Urban Golf is the oposite of it's traditional counterpart, it's cool, fun, I'm not even a golfer and I loved it. To be honest I wasn't taking it too seriously but it's a nice bar, fun and different activity than just going to the pub.
Agreed it's not cheap but suppose it's London prices.

Urban Golf Soho have a great offer at the moment of a free lunch with each hour of the simulator booked any weekday 24 hours in advance.
Great place to go and play around with friends without becoming wet and tired.
Although beware… I went in the drink on the world famous 17th at Valderrama to throw an until-then closely fought matchplay scrap with my friend John; heartbreaking… but at least I had a free club sandwich by way of consolation.
Make sure you get a full hour - it’s pricey enough at 15 quid per person without some young upstart dressed like Ian Poulter pressuring you.

I thought I'd hate Urban Golf when someone explained it to me: playing golf on a computer for £15 an hour? Why on earth would I want to do that?
Of course I was completely wrong, they've actually created a really clever and enjoyable way of 'playing golf' indoors. Real clubs (really nice ones too), real balls and a choice of virtual courses means you can play the back 9 of the Belfry in an afternoon without breaking a sweat.
The graphics are very good and the kit they use to measure your swing is fantastic. I wouldn't say UJ is for beginners though, unless you're all at the same level then you will hold people up, even on the easier settings. They do offer lessons though.
Beers and food (burgers etc - but good ) are delivered to your booth as you play, so you never have to leave the tee.
Overall a good experience but pricey enough to make it an occasional treat only.
