I have stayed in the Hotel de Mougins on business for one night. The hotel entrance gives you a good idea of what this hotel is about…meaning privacy, small and charming. The hotel is a 4 star hotel with swimming pool and a lovely garden from where you can access to your rooms. I have a room on the 2nd floor 216 with a balcony but there are also some rooms on the ground floor with semi private gardens. The style of the room and the hotel overall is very much typical of the South East of France. The resaurant is also very good. We had a set menu so I can’t comment of the overall experience. But we had a good meal outside in the garden. Breakfast is continental and nothing special. The only negative point is the the bathroom which fails to give you power shower in the morning. I guess all guests were having a shower at the same time. Overall, a very good hotel to stop by if you fancy to stay remote from Nice or Cannes.

This hotel is outside the historic centre of Mougins, and although the hotel entrance is off a main road (which leads to Sophia Antipolis - the Silicon Valley of Europe) it is very quiet.
The hotel itself is very nice and picturesque. There is a small but cosy lounge, with elegant French interior design, with a bar and fireplace. There is also a restaurant (later) and a beautiful open courtyard with a swimming pool, beautiful lawns and tables where one can have meals there as well (I would advise breakfast when in-season).
The rooms themselves follow the same design philosophy of the hotel - they are very comfortable, spacious and elegant.
During my last visit (always corporate), I went to the restaurant, which is quite expensive (25€ for starters, 35 for main courses, 15 for desserts). The food was quite good, but I would have two complaints - first of all, the menu is very limited (there were 4 -5 starters, 4 - 5 main courses, 4 - 5 desserts) on the evening I ate, there was no beef (i had the choice between lamb, fish or pigeon!!). Secondly the “garcons” tend to be quite young, inexperienced and maybe also lacking some professionality.
Apart from one night in February (where the heating was turned off) and two nights in April (where there were some ants in everyone’s rooms) I would recommend this hotel for corporate visits, as it really is quite beautiful (and American clients really enjoy it!). With better service, no ants and heating, I would have given this place a 5 star review.
