Until now I’d only seen comedy in massive arenas with very famous names so didn’t know what to expect from the Therapy Room Comedy Club with comedians I didn’t know. I needn’t have worried. Excellent night out in Tunbridge Wells.

It was thanks to Qype that I discovered this gem and I will definitely be returning monthly. An amazing night out, intimate comedy (a tad too intimate if like me you happen to end up sitting in the front row and the compare accuses you of being boring). The people next to me were having an affair, I couldn’t compete!
An excellent Thursday night treat to elongate the weekend. It is a brilliant use of space, informal and intimate, featuring brilliant up and coming comedians and very much appreciated in a town with a dare I say ‘stuffy’ reputation.

What does Tunbridge Wells know about comedy? Quite a lot apparently. A few comedy nights have popped up in the town and I have to say this one is probably the best. You could do worse than checking the others out but if you could only pick one I’d make it the Therapy Room Comedy Club.

Having attended most of the Therapy Room events in Tunbridge Wells over the past 12 months (including my office party at one of their Christmas events), I can honestly say they are excellent! The Therapy Room is exactly what Tunbridge Wells needed….something different. The acts are always varied and very funny, the audience always a great crowd and the event is such good value. It really is a credit to its organisers! Congratulations on a job well done!!

The Therapy Room Comedy Club in Tunbridge Wells does exactly what it says on the tin; provides therapy in a world currently gripped by meltdown and madness. Stand up comedians in Kent are not usually a group of words you hear in the same sentence, but on every occasion I've visited the line-up has been varied and excellent. Paul Sinha will take some topping, but with its eclectic mix of new and established talent, the Therapy Room provides one of the best nights out in Kent. See you in the front row for a heckle...

Quality Comedians and Great Venue - This is a great night out... 3 comedians in one night! I've seen the many established and up and coming comedians here and the Therapy Room never disappoints. The Venue is great with two bars for the interim/s making sure everybody get a refill before the next performance commences. If you haven't been then I suggest you do!

Unusually for me, I am giving a positive review, normally I prefer to slag stuff off in boxes like this. However following my last trip (of many) to the Therapy Rooms, I feel urged to write about what a great evening I had. All three acts were straight out of the top draw, and the compare tied it all together well. I had tears streaming down my face towards the end as Adam Bloom got so carried away with the atmosphere that he did a 20min encore. I will be back.

I've visited the Therapy Room Comedy Club on numerous occassions and have to say it is one of the best nights out that Tunbridge Wells has to offer. Ok, that might not be saying a lot but the Therapy Room offers a quirky, less formal alternative to comedy at Trinity or The Assembly Hall.
Much improved since it's move to a superior venue (less chance of being asphyxiated by Grey Lady fajita fumes), the comedians are invariably excellent, ably supported by a compere full of cracking local gags.
A great night's entertainment at a good price.

Fajita fumes indeed!!!! They were awful weren't they? I remember one person being served fajitas during Lucy Porters set and as it continued hissing, she asked the guy if it was his girlfriend deflating!!! Oh my aching sides.................
yeah great nite at the old school house. we loved jeff innocent - what a geezer. Tiffany Stevenson great too. Stephen Upsall is a great compere - i luv the fact we've seen him go from open mic to a spot on compere we cant do without. therapy room rocks guys xx

A monthly event in TW which has just moved from above the Grey Lady in the Pantiles to Chapel Place nearby. I can only assume it's because they need a larger venue. It's always busy and deservedly so.
The fellas that run it seem to know everybody & make it their business to say hello to all & sundry. The normal MC is a local guy called Stephen Upsall who's quite a card & they have some excellent guests for a reasonable fee. Lucy Porter & Robin Ince were particularly good last year.
Nobly, they squeeze in a newcomer between the more experienced first and last acts. Noble but sphincter-puckeringly risky at times. This is often the crucial time of the evening & there is always a thrill in watching somebody take that big leap. Some have done excellently and others shockingly. Few situations can summon up the awkwardness of being in a dying comedians audience.
It is supported by a happy local crowd. The local Toni & Guy are one of the sponsors and they always send down a group of lunatics. Beyond this there is another sponsor called 'Moog Royale': I think they sell synthesiser burgers.

Good night last night. The Old School House venue is pretty upmarket & I'm sure the number of people there had grown significantly. The acoustics were especially echoey which meant you heard too much from the meatheads who talk during acts......never got that!!! Stephen Upsall was particularly good, I thought. "It's all going a bit Tonbridge" he said when a row broke out over a woman who had seemingly been sick on herself & a comic & her friend went off on one. Crazy nights!!!
