the owner there is very helpful too so if you don’t know what to choose, just ask the lady in charge! a must try is their steamboat!

i just had dinner here this evening to celebrate my engagement with my husband, and so far it has been the best. The ambience of this restaurant, the food, the staff all made my day all worth while. I really enjoyed the food here as i have never had Singaporean/Malaysian food before. It sets aside all other chinese restaurants. This little boutique restaurant is located in the heart of coulsdon with easy access for cars etc.

love the food here. i come here all the time and the food is always amazing. good atmosphere, good food all for the right price! i would recommend this restaurant who love authentic singaporean food

My sister and I fancied a break from cooking tonight and decided to venture out to try a new restaurant. After a little bit of research on the internet, Singapore Orchid promised authentic Singaporean food, specialising in hawker (street) food, which we enjoy. The on-line menu looked promising and we ventured into the wilds of Surrey
The food itself was solid – sar ho fun (broad rice stick in an egg gravy sauce with meat and vegetables) looked right and tasted amazing but needed some green chilli for punch. Indian mee goreng was lovely if a little spicy. We also ordered an extra dish to share – curry lamb, which had good spicing.
We found space for dessert and ordered pisang goreng (fried banana). The restaurant got the crispy batter just right.
Enough here to make us return to try the traditional steamboat one day

There is absolutely nothing here that tastes Malaysian or Singaporean. The quality of the food is very dissapointing.
Despite the variety of food tried, none was pleasing. Appears to be catered only to the locals, judging from the taste.
Very disappointing.

Being a singaporean myself, i would have to disagree. The food here is very authentic and is not catered to the locals as i travel from london to enjoy authentic food here at Singapore Orchid.

Offensive content?
Excellent restaurant with very tasty unique dishes. Being a vegetarian it is the only place I have ever been offered veggie crispy duck and veggie lamb curry! Highly recommended.
