Happy memories.

Cannot fathom what a hotel in such a charming village environment would burn COAL in their fireplaces! Immediately upon arriving at the hotel, we were completely turned off by the obnoxious smell of coal smoke coming from the hotel chimneys. It really spoils the atmosphere of the hotel and village. Spoke to staff about this and they said they’ve had complaints from residents, but they still piled on the coal while we were there.

We found the staff there very indifferent, the rooms dated, and the manager rather abrasive.

The White Hart is a 16th Century Coaching Inn with oak beams in a nice quiet village. The bar is in the style of a traditional village pub, with the usual selection of local beers.
The restaurant is an interesting blend of modern furnishing and original features. The menu has a good selection of traditional and more modern fare, the staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable.
There is off-street parking round the back of the building and 28 bedrooms if you over-do things.
