I wonder if like couples or owners and their dogs that shops and their owners and / or staff take on each others characteristics? If so then I think that Greenlands Health Foods would be a perfect example. Placed along the edge of the hustle and bustle of Greenwich Market the shop is a little oasis of calm. The minute you step in you immediately take on a feeling of zen like harmony! (I guess it must be all the healthy and holistic items within!).
The shop is made up of two floors the 1st floor which you enter into has everything from supplements, seeds, organic food and wine to healthy teas and breads. Anything you could wish for to feed your body to health and beauty!….But wait…..theres more, down the steps to the ground floor and there is every type of organic and natural item for the body and home, from natural shampoos and body washes to hair dye and eco friendly house hold cleaners.
Now back to my first comment about shops and their owners, when you go to pay you wont help but notice how peaceful and calm the staff members are, I have been a couple of times now and each time the same – they truly seem to love their work.
So if you fancy making your body and mind a little calmer and healthier in what can be a frantic world make sure you take a little time out and visit the little oasis of calm on the edge of Greenwich market.

Friendly and informative staff - always willing to research and source on your behalf if not already in the well stocked shop. I've been happy with the service here for many years and pleased to have seen them expand to the bigger premises. Worth a visit - even to be inspired whilst browsing.

There was a review in Time Out magazine this week that said you couldn’t buy groceries in Greenwich Market. Rubbish. Clearly they didn’t venture into this little organic health food treasure. Greenlands is wonderful without being too ‘hippy-ish’.
For a start, they do parsnip chips. I have an addiction to parsnip crisps. Crisps in general. But parsnips are wonderful too so they make me excited. It’s not easy to find these anywhere so the huge bags you can get here are worth a trip into Greenwich alone.
They’re a friendly bunch here and they know their stuff. Whether you’ve gone in for your echinacea (handy with all the strange snowy stuff right now) or you just want a healthy snack, they’ll be able to help you. In fact, they willingly help you. That’s nice. I like that in a shop, it’s important.
They’re so good at what they do, I don’t actually need to come here very often. Which is a shame, the staff are friendly and I like it. Its a tiny poky little place that is clearly run by people who love what they do. It’s shops like this that keep the Greenwich Market as it is.
