My first trip to the States also saw my first trip to a Jack In The Box restaurant.

A large chain over there, Jack In The Box serves up pretty good food all things considered. It’s fast food, but cooked well and more akin to the Burger King style than McDonalds.

Ordering was a little tricky. I was a Cockney talking to a Mexican, but we got there in the end. You don’t get a drink given to you, like most places in the States you get a cup and you help yourself, and they’re big cups. Refillable as often as you like you won’t go thirsty but you will consume an awful lot of calories!

You get given a numbered ticket to go and collect your food when it is clled. Big, juicy burgers packed with any extras you choose are served up, along with fries that are seasoned and have their skins left on. They are certainly good fries, and indeed more like chips than fries, which is a welcome change for a place like this.
