Another deli-style entry on a parade with much food to offer, Blueberry attempts something a little different with its lunch menu. For a fixed fee (around £5), you get the choice of one 'main’ and two 'veg’. While the variety of the food on offer is good, and the dishes are delicious, the portions are a little mean, especially considering that the plate could easily be filled out with the vegetable dishes rather than the main. With a fresh, clean cafeteria style interior and several seats out front for people-watching, it’s not doing too much wrong, but then it’s not really doing too much different from the five or so similar places nearby either. If you find yourself outside and incredibly hungry, then go ahead, but I wouldn’t make a trip especially for it. Meh.
I went here yesterday. I was visiting the interiors shop next door and hunger struck so I popped in to get something to eat. I have to say I was really pleasantly surprised at what a lovely place I found…...the interior was clean, modern and contemproary, the music playing was soft sexy summer jazz, the smells were georgeous, the service was friendly and I havent even started on the food they had to offer. There were about 15 dishes on offer from salads to pastas and I could have eaten all of them. I was torn between what looked like a bacon and avocado salad and a tomato pasta dish but in the end settled for a Brie and roasted vegetable sandwich in ciabatta bread and it was lovely! It was also just £3.50 so I was really chuffed to get more than my money’s worth. If I am in the area again I will definately go in there even if I’m not hungry, taking more time to chill out for a bit have a read of the paper and enjoy sampling more food from this georgeous little cafe. The owner has really thought about this place and what they want to achieve. I dont think the outside of the building does the inside justice although it is very well presented.
