I used to love this place in the mid 80s – always a great mix of music – must see what its like now – see you there!

Once you get in it's not too shabby, music's ok, atmosphere quite good. Would not go out of my way to go there, but have an ok time when we do end up there..
always a great night out! there is something for everyone here!

It’s the best night out in exeter but it’s still fairly dreadful…

what can i say about timepiece. its amazing. it has something for everyone so pick your theme and you'll find a night of week that suits you. set on three floors, with different music playing on each, you'll always find a song you like. whilst the youngsters are upstairs you tend to find the 30+ people downstairs having a good catch up and a bit of a dance on stage.
outside is a large, covered patio area where you can smoke or just get some fresh air and enjoy your drink. And if your feeling peckish they have their world famous burgers to fill up up (or sober you up). i say world famous as i met people in Australia who were talking about how good they were.
the cheap prices are better than most, though not so low as to attract certain types. about £2.50 for a spirit mixer and £3 for a pint. entry to the club is pretty good too as about £3-5. the staff are pretty friendly and very efficient. ive been going there for years and i doubt that will change (as sad as that sounds!).
oh, also apparently they now own the pub next door - think its called old timers or something, and upstairs they're turning it into some sort of cocktail bar i think.

A while since I was there - over 20 years now since moving to Glasgow, was always a great club for rock, punk and goth back in the 80's. Sounds a little different now tho, perhaps I will pop in for a pint when next in Exeter - this weekend! Cheers

birdy1, 30 June 2012:
This is by far the best club in town as you can wear what you like and isn’t your typical meat market. Downstairs is the wine bar (which is free entry) with seating, a small dance area and DJ. The wine bar has a great atmosphere with candles and proper pub paraphernalia.
For the smokers there is a beer garden with heaters, scattered amongst which are gravestones! The first floor is the main club area which plays indie/rock on a Friday night and a wide range of cheese/chart on a saturday night. The second floor is the smaller balcony bar which is often the best place to go for a less roudy, quieter dance. This usually plays a mixture of hip-hop and funk.

Timepiece rescued all of us who grew up in Exeter from a life of Saturday nights at Warehouse. Moving out of Exeter makes you realise that it leaves a lot to be desired, but it always was and is a fun place for a night out, and being able to stay downstairs, sit outside or go up to the club meant you were always flexible. It’s a nice treat to have a burger while sitting outside with your drink too! It may be limited, but those of us from Exeter will always be fond of it.

Definitley one of the better nightclubs in Exeter. They have lots of outdoor areas which is nice if you want to cool down and they have a smokers area outside as well. There is also a burger bar which does amazing burgers.

Timepiece, where do you start! Several floors all with sticky floors that you can hear and feel with every step, apart from that most people love it! It has 2 floors playing different kinds of music, and yes they have even played some Drum and Base before! It is a typical going out place, cheesy pop and R & B on a Friday and Saturday night but of course quite good if you have had a few drinks. They have got a nice outside bit with picnic tables that you can go and relax on. My experience there is I have always met nice random people that you can just dance with or have the most peculiar conversations with outside. I have never come across any violence which is a plus! Timepiece is a great fun place playing the usual on weekends with a few themed nights during the week to match different tastes.

Quite a nice bar, very big and spacious. (although you cannot tell that it is on the weekend!) Option of going to club upstairs. There are very fun nights out to be had here.

Timepeice is a great place to have a night out in exeter, slightly away from the hustle and bustle of this city it is located.
nice atmosphere with plenty of outdoor areas to cool off, nice bars inside to buy many drinks to fully complete your night out in exeter.
beware of queues or fri and sat

Timepiece hosts Collision on a Friday night which is Exeter’s best Indie night, queues are usually fairly long just before 11pm so get there early.

Timepiece is the best night club in Exeter. The terrace is a great place to escape too if it gets a bit hot.
It often plays host to student nights and special events in the week too.
Even the bar downstairs is a good one.

I got a kick in from the staff once when i wanted to go back in to get my mobile phone, and no apology, so thumbs down for the voilent door staff! - This was 6 years ago so they have possibly changed. A big venue, great big bar and great music, a big terrace, right in the middle of town so easy to get to by taxi, bus or to walk to.
Timepiece is always an experience, it’s a kinda seedy bar-live-music-club venue that everyone in Exeter (apart from your mum) seems to end up in at the end of the night. And I have to say Timepiece is fun! Generally most people are pretty trolleyed when in Timepiece, but generally it’s all about having a good time, and it’s really friendly.
In the last decade the young, beautiful and urban hip people of Exeter would have gathered here, had Exeter been able to produce its share of bohemia, but times have changed and Exeter has become quite glamorous, but Timepiece has not been forsaken. What’s great is that there is quite a mix here from aging dilettantes to freshfaced students, and everyone just gets down and has a great time. Maybe it’s the way they mix their drinks, but when in Timepiece you feel like it’s a great party and you are there to have fun.
It’s one of the latest places open for a drink in Exeter, hence its huge popularity esp towards the dry end of the night. Be warned there are massive queues to get in before 10pm, as there is an entrance charge afterwards of £5. Get in there early!
