I was in Stockholm for just 36 hours. I didn’t sleep at all for almost the entire time I was there (two nights). Three beers would’ve been enough to cause me to start stripping down to nothing, stumbling down the street, and swimming in the river.
Well I was there interviewing for a dream job. My future co-workers took me out to dinner, proceeded to get me real drunk, then took me to Akkurat. It was a Tuesday night.
When we showed up, a number of other co-workers were their getting their drink on. We sat down and proceeded to drink our body weight in booze. The mixed drinks as well as the beers were awesome. As an American traveling in Sweden with a weak dollar, I felt the burden. I paid around 60 USD for just 5 rum and cokes (for my co-workers and I). This was to be expected. At 3am when the place was shutting down, I could barely speak. If they were trying to convince me to take the job, they succeeded.
Akkurat appears to be popular among the young professionals in Stockholm, and for good reason. The service was fast, the drinks were stiff, the atmosphere was awesome. It’s a great pub for groups. And a great place to go to with great company.
